Most people use social media to post cute pictures of their dogs, fancy meals they liked. Sure it's a highlight of their life currated to present themselves, but it's mostly just celebrating the life they have.

Only influencers actually go out of their way to make social media content for the sake of content. Stop judging what professional social media is and applying it to eveyones everyday use.

Go look at your aunt's Facebook, a classmates insta, a peers snap. They aren't really like the big accounts you follow. For most normal people soical media is a bi product of their lives, not the center pillar of it.

This is a crazy take. Women loving having the most handsome man, if we are going to talk about being shallow on insta. Maybe they hide them if they are not handsome or they quietly suspect a future break up so future proofing the gram.

If he’s hot then he will be featured front and centre from what I see, if they are long term together.

As a guy with tattoos myself.. what is with you and tattoos ? lol. I mean of course a lot of women like tats, almost half of women have atleast one themselves, I get complimented on mine often but it doesn’t necessarily really move the needle a lot when it comes to attraction as a man. Having a good physique moves the needle. And Bad tattoos hurt you more than good tattoos help you.

And stop generalizing women as wanting bad boys, that’s corny bro. What most women want are masculine men, confident, strong, has back bone. Thode are good generalizations. Those things aren’t specifically bad boy qualities. The women who specifically want bad boys are bad girls. Like attracts like. When you look at specific actual bad boy qualities none of them make you more attractive to most women, key word being most. Doing cocaine is a bad boy quality and that would be a turn off to most women lol.

Yes, the vast majority of people under 45 are active on social media.

Yes, social media/apps are a main way of getting dates.

However, what you’ve pointed to is a feature, not a bug. You’ve found the profile of a woman who you find to be an asshole.

In the old days, people would not advertise this quite so publicly. You’d at least have to speak to them, if not actually spend time with them, to realise this.

Now you can just swipe left.

While I do think it would be possible to construct an argument about how social media has affected dating, this is a very weak example. Because rather than pointing to a way in which “people aren’t like that in real life,” you’ve gone to the exact opposite route and pointed out something that has always been a pattern before social media even existed.

Do you think most men weren’t taller than most women and that women didn’t commonly prefer taller men before social media? Do you think “super handsome” men are common, commonly date less attractive women, or that women wanted a man prettier than themselves before social media? The only possible part of what you’re describing that might be thanks in part to social media is the rise in popularity of tattoos, but they’re actually falling out of fashion a bit among gen z, so not sure about that either.

This comes off mainly that you’re annoyed women with boyfriends don’t always have them front and center in their profile pics so you can’t easily skip past them. But most people have already made the mistake of oversharing their relationship on social media in high school and the ensuing embarrassment after the breakup, and aren’t structuring their profiles with your convenience in mind.

Also 99% sure these men all have faces.

I never posted anything to social media until my boyfriend moved in with me. It’s basically only so his family another state over can “see” him and know that I haven’t enslaved him or something. I know his parents and sister miss him terribly.
