It's shown in statistics that a majority of men do not seek full custody of children after separation/divorce. Most men do not want their kids full time unless they believe the mother was neglecting or harming them. Most men seek out weekend visits/overnight stay, sometimes one week on/one week off - but statistics show most men who seek 50/50 or one week on/one week off only do so if they have obtained another live-in partner.

Women have more custody not just because courts favour them and blahblah, but because men rarely seek full custody. Whoever has more custody will get housing if they qualify.

If a man has full custody then the mother will be expected to pay maintenance/child support. I have never heard of a man not paying child support going to prison in my country. If they earn a low wage then a percentage will be taken, it's percentage based. If they're unemployed then they have nothing. It's only an issue if they are earning good money but commit fraud, lie about earnings, tax evasion etc in order to not contribute at all to their children, or they disappear and won't respond to any responsibility for their children. It's not being a victim to fuck women, get them pregnant and then be expected to contribute to your own kids.

Not necessarily. My dad received child support from my mom and we didn't need free housing but we got some welfare benefits. 🤷‍♀️ Even if you aren't the custodial parent, the amount of child support due can be reconsidered if you're truly struggling to pay it.

Like, not an argument that it happens 'all the time', but:

I once worked with not one, or two, but three families where the mother fucked off and the kids were being raised by a father in supported housing. At the same time. Two of them (the kids) were in the same class, in fact.
One of them the mother had disappeared into the ether, but the other two had to pay child support after being instructed to by the court.

It happens.
You too can live supported on a shitty housing estate, trying to keep control over small children/teenagers and still work as much as you can, while receiving meagre state and child support payouts. Living the dream, guys!
