Be Yourself: If you're looking for a relationship you want to build it on something real, not a fake version of yourself. This is not an invitation to slack off, be unfit and wear horrible clothes (somehow women never interpret Be Yourself to mean don't wear makeup, let your worse personality traits show and above all else, certainly make zero effort on yourself); it's what you tell a friend who's panicking because he's got a first date in 20 minutes. Or a friend whose biggest problem is lack of self-confidence. Or a friend who has such big problems you don't really know where to start because "You're ugly af" isn't PC.

Guys should listen and be sensitive: Because who wants to be in a relationship with a cold unfeeling machine. I love that I'm one of the few people my SO opens up to about everything. Most people get the superficial joys; I get his fears, his disappointments, his sadness.
Also, classic misunderstanding of "beta" or even "sensitive" as having to mean "weak". It doesn't. Plenty of strong people know how to share their feelings with the people they're close to. I'm weak but suck at opening up.

Sure that's terrible advice to give to a red piller who wants thirty hookups a month, but it's not for someone who does better in relationships. And nowhere does it say "do nothing." Then when you meet someone cool, you still have to to for it. Sure, it's terrible advice if you're a shut in who never meets anyone but who tells someone who isn't looking to "stop looking"?

Add a caveat of "as long as he can support himself" and that's actually true for many women, particularly younger women or those who don't want to merge finances ever. People on here have pointed out the apex fallacy and the belief feminists have that all men benefit from a system designed to keep the 1% in power. That is not a patriarchy.

Some RPers have even postulated that women only notice the top men and assume all men are like that, such ad being tall or that sex is easy for them to get. So the absolute worst traits from them are then assumed to be in all men (toxic masculinity) when the bulk of men are not alphas. If this is true, it would explain why women only talk of male privilege and ignore the men who are suffering, such as homeless men or victims of domestic violence.

It also means we are arguing about two different sets of people when talking about the SMP, which would also explain why there is so much hatred for RP guys trying to get laid more.

Alternatively:

Be yourself: make it seem like you're being yourself, don't be awkward.
Guys should listen and be sensitive: guys who don't ever act like they care should sometimes act like they care. (I don't think that people who give this advice acknowledge the distinction between things that make women happy and things that attract them.)
When you stop looking someone will come along: don't act thirsty, do interesting stuff, value your time.
Women prefer dad bods: women don't want to feel like a guy is way out of their league. (Sometimes)
It doesn't matter how much money a guy has: he doesn't have to be rich, just financially stable.
Men and women have the same sex drive: some women have higher sex drives than some men.

The theme here is advice that is not malicious and is intended to be helpful, but doesn't actually understand the needs of the person getting the advice.

Don't put on some elaborate show and try to pretend to be someone you are not. You don't have to pretend to be a party animal if you aren't and you don't have to pretend to be a tough bad boy if you aren't. You also don't have to like everything she's into just to impress her.

Well this is just idealistic BP stuff that no TBPer here has ever said in this form.

But there's some truth to it. If you go out with the intention of picking someone up you have a different vibe to you than someone that's just out to have a good time. You will also be more chill when talking to women and will get to know them deeper and in turn love could just end up on your lap without you having to put lots of effort into approaching, but it's still idealistic and not a promise that it will actually happen.

Only the manosphere somehow thinks that dad bod means fat. It actually means fit plus a little bit of meat.

You've got to consider that BP doesn't have as high standards as RP. Average people pair up with average people all the time by relying on BP advice, but sure if you want the hottest plastic barbie in a night club you've got to be her muscular alpha.

1) Be Yourself -- Means if you are already hot, rich, dominant and "my type" you don't need to change. Just continue to be perfect. So if you are already Chad, you don't need to change anything.

Look man. You've got a buddy, he's giddy about the first girl he's talking to, really nervous, wants to ask her out. Or even better, maybe he already did and she said yes! He's got butterflies in his tummy even though the date is four days out. He's freaking out. He's saying he won't know what to do or say.

Be yourself is advice in that situation. I've rarely seen the advice given to people who are like "No one dates me, what the hell?!" I see it given in that situation, and it's really goo for that situation. You're not gonna sit the boy down and transfer all the knowledge you have about women / dating into his head in 3 or 4 days. It's advice that says play it by ear, do what you know, and relax. Just be yourself. Say stuff you'd normally say. Don't overthink it.

The assumption is he's obviously gonna mess it up a bit, there's even a decent chance it'll be so bad they don't go on any other date. But that's ok, it's not the end of the world. He'll learn from his own experiences and rapidly figure out a lot of stuff. That's how it works. That's how social stuff works. You have to dive in head first and figure it out for yourself. It turns out intense theories, narrow statistical studies, etc. just don't teach you that stuff well. You could read tombs of shit about the topic, and it'll just not play out well when you try it all out for the first time. It'd be like reading 3 textbooks about swimming and then diving into the ocean. You'll be a goner.

What should the person say in that situation instead? "You're going to fuck it up, because you know none of the stuff! Hah, have fun, loser!" Would that weird honesty actually be productive or useful?

This means don't change your personality so much that you have to become a completely different fake person and end up with somebody incompatible with you who doesn't really make you happy. Being fake is acceptable if all you're trying to do is score casual sex with a woman, but not as many women want casual sex on any given night as women who are looking for something more.

At times. A guy who is always listening and sensitive might not very exciting to a woman, but most women want a guy who can be like this at times, no matter how he looks.

I think there's such a thing as trying too hard. If a guy does, he usually comes off as desperate and unattractive. I don't think it's advisable to completely ignore women if you want sex or a relationship, but when it becomes some obsession one can give off a negative vibe to women.

I think you're somewhat right on this one. Women tolerate dad bods if they are attracted to other aspects of a man. Usually you'll get rejected right off if you have a dad bod unless you're high status or perhaps very funny. Later in a relationship a woman might tolerate your dad bod if she is already attracted to other aspects of you and has developed a bond with you.

It matters somewhat. It's more a measure of one's ambition as a personality trait than it is that she wants to spend your money, though. If a man is a social worker helping the poor and making only $50,000 a year it can be attractive to some women even if he is not pulling in big money because he has the drive to do something positive.

I agree with you that it's different, but I don't think women go into heat the moment they see a very physically attractive man. Actually, you're illustrating the point that you're trying to disprove by listing hot men and saying that a woman is instantly sexually attracted to those men. This is how the average man's sex drive works, not the average woman's. Women are attracted to the total package of a man including both looks and personality.

This discussion can go into so much depth and analysis due to the scope... for one thing "blue pill" (or generally what society is preaching) has way more advice then listed by OP... however that's also part of the problem. There's so many advice out there and sometimes they contradict each other that "society's advice for dating" becomes generally meaningless. It is no wonder why people became attracted to PUA/RP dating advice, because it is clear, consistent, and also have explanatory power.

"Be Yourself" - just a short, simple advice can have so many different meaning and interpretation... for one, it's a filter for people to to find value without market disruption and market noise. Personally I went to a networking event once, and the speaker was giving out the same advice... and ofcourse I acted like a fool and was outed as such... good for the market, not good for me personally. So yes, "Be yourself" is a good advice, but good for the (sexual) market. The problem with this, However, is that you have women wearing high heels, padded up their boobs, and literally wearing inches thick of makeup, eyelid tape, etc... and claim they wear it "for fun". So why can't a guy act like he's high SMV for fun as well?

I think "be yourself" should really be - highlight your positive qualities and downplay your negative qualities as many sales books and seminars would teach you when you want to sell a product... (and that product is YOU). The problem is that most male are complete spergs and doesn't understand the difference because this is completely intuitive /s.

Women (especially today's women) wants both alpha and beta traits; they wants alpha but also to tame them, so when they say they want "Guys should listen and be sensitive", they are speaking about beta-ing their alphas.

Women always have the power in the SMV because they are the chooser, due to how society portrayal men's role as being proactive and the initiator of relationship. This is also something that feminist won't do anything about in terms of bring gender equality and destroy the stereotypical gender roles.

For example you can literally get better results by going to a cheaper diner, but if that diner got a unique atmosphere, and good authentic food. The unfortunate reality is that many things in society (security, status, resource, experience) often translate to money. My advise on this is bargain-hunting, knowledge, and experience can often substitute money, especially when all you do is dump money onto her.

Another anecdote: I've seen women screaming at tall men with 6 packs and a body with well defined muscles, but it doesn't automatically translate to sex.. but rather validation and a means to get sex from the female.... again that's why RP emphasis on lifting and body wellness.

In the end I think OP is tasting the RP anger phase, but he'll get over it. Experienced RP knows that the game too well and isn't mad for what the game really is. Rather they seek to better themselves so they can play the SMV game better. Unfortunately BP sees that as manipulation and seeing thru the nature of female behavior in the SMV as misogynistic.
