The female version prefaced the question with dysfunction already festering in the relationship. People are reacting to that, the porn is just symptom.

The male version was a neutral question, minimal backstory. People respond in kind, as they have no reason to believe OP is enduring other dysfunctional elements to the relationship.

It seems like the female version highlights that porn is a major trigger for the poster and has been the source of a great deal of conflict in her relationship. In the male post, there’s no indication whatsoever that the porn use is causing a conflict within the relationship at all. Given that, I’d be extremely concerned if the comments were similar for both posts. Hopefully both men and women have different advice for someone who’s happy with their relationship than for someone who’s extremely uncomfortable within their relationship.

Well, the tone and context of the OPs is different. The first is a person saying their partner likes it, they don't, and it's causing problems in their relationship. The second is specifically asking women who like it why they like it. He doesn't seem to have a problem with it, he's just curious what the appeal is. So it's not a 1:1 comparison and there's obviously going to be some selection bias on the second post.

But even then, skimming the second post I see a lot of replies saying it's indicative of a porn addiction, that it isn't healthy, that it's damaging to relationships, etc.

Personally, I think it's disgusting and I've mentioned on this sub before that it's the one thing I've done with an ex that I wouldn't do with a current or future partner.

Situations are pretty different, aren't they? It's one thing to have porn on background, "mostly in the beginning", and another when you can't perform without it.

It's very simple: if the guy is high value/Chad women will try to impress him sexually. If he's a normie - "you want me to do what?!".

People seem to think that women just… don’t like porn enough to get addicted or something so the attitudes are very different to begin with.

That being said, context matters and if both partners are into it then they should do what makes them happy but if one partner is making the other uncomfortable then a conversation needs to be had.

What goes on in someone else’s bedroom is none of my business so as long as no one is uncomfortable and nothing illegal is happening, it shouldn’t matter who suggests an activity as long as both partners enjoy it.
