The only way this truly happens is through communicating, without actually seeing one another. Say chatting online. Forming a relationship. Then meeting up. The reason being humans are primarily visual creatures. So how another person appears, is a primary aspect of their first impression.

It’s why lifting is a foundational tenet of TRP. As it’s easily the most efficient, and effective factor, all people can improve on.

i’m not sure i understand.

my current relationship started as just friend/coworkers. i caught feelings, and from there we started dating. physical attraction was there but i wanted to wait for sex. i don’t have sex until there’s an emotional connection there.

Emotional connection can multiply physical attraction but cannot create it from nothing. So if there is a minimal level of attraction to start with, that can grow. But if it’s at zero, it will stay at zero.

I like it when guys show interest in me and I find them physically attractive. That's it pretty much. There's some emotional stuff in there but that's the formula.

I asked out my fiancé initially based on pretty much only emotional connection and we started to think about how the other looked a while afterwards. I'd say those perceptions were probably coloured by how we already felt about each other, which was a positive. I find it hard, in my head, to separate out emotional attraction from anything else.

So for me, there's no or neutral zones for initial encounter. With the guys who are in the neutral zone, there's the getting to know phase that develops into some kind of connection and the attraction can also grow that way. It never starts out with more than just some curiosity. I think I may be called a demisexual.

Not intentionally, but pre internet/cell phones we were forced to interact face to face. It was common to meet someone you didn’t initially find attractive but overtime this person became the most attractive person on the planet. I think most of the post internet/cell phone generation will never experience this. I think this is an actual detriment to society in the long run and as a whole.

I have. We were excellent on paper, and when we messaged/talked, we only clicked more. We seemed to have everything that 21-year-old me needed to be happy together. I was like, sold, let's try it.

What was the outcome(s)?

Well, I lost my virginity. :D I think he was only one away from virgin, and that was nice. He took care that it didn't hurt, either. It wasn't great, and it was not-great throughout, but it didn't actively cause me dread like the next one would.

We forgot to think about the future, though. The reason I stopped dating students was him: we couldn't make our futures work together because he wanted his to take him somewhere that the one I thought I wanted would not be able to happen. He was also sure that he knew me better than I knew myself, and I did not want to be told who I was. Especially by someone, oof, who had revealed he had come off his meds.

So we turned out to be somewhat incompatible, and the relationship didn't last more than three months. At least he sent me breakup lilacs? I kid you not, this man sent three baby lilac bushes as a gift some months after we broke up, perhaps as a "remember me fondly" gesture. And it worked.

For me I am more attracted to personality first and looks come second.

My current bf of 5 years was a guy I met on this site. We were friends for a year and never saw what each other looked like but I started crushing on him later on because of his humor, support, morals, adorableness, intelligence, interests, etc. when we decided to date we webcammed for the first time and he turned out to be a skinny nerdy guy which I actually prefer over some gym bro. I am a slim nerdy girl as well.

When we met in person we had amazing chemistry and we have been living together for a few years now. I have never been so attracted to anyone the way I am attracted to him. To many he may seem like an average skinny white guy with dark hair but to me no one compares to him.

In my opinion looks can quickly change and are guaranteed to change but if you still have that emotional bond that’s what matters most. That’s what will keep the relationship going. I love him so much and feel very lucky to have him.
