There's this myth that rejected young men will inevitably build value through money and status as they age. Oh, and through confidence. I never understood how confidence is going to change someone's attractiveness, but I digress.

Financial success is not guaranteed with age. While not impossible, the reality is that most men do not become wealthy by 40.

Second, even for the rare few who do achieve CEO status and wealth, what is the actual reward? They attract gold diggers, partners who fake initial intimacy to ensnare them, devoid of genuine attraction. After they have secured a relationship, these women will use the man's resources to sleep with guys they find truly attractive.

At work, there is a guy who tries so hard to be funny, prances around like a deer, it is almost painful to watch him. He tries so hard. He has fallen in love with my coworker who is a beautiful young woman and she has saved him in her contacts as "shortlet." I told her this is not cool because, after all, he's still a human being. This guy is relatively successful and makes more money than the rest of us, but he is still viewed as undesirable. He also does something with his face, like a facial expression that is super cringe and that I have seen a lot of unattractive guys do. It's a rehearsed and contrived facial expression meant to be funny but that comes across as desperate. He puts his face 45 degress from the observer and smiles forcibly. He thinks he is funny and confident and that will generate attraction.

In my not-so-humble opinion, unwanted men should embrace radical acceptance and opt out of dating entirely. Contrary to childhood fairy tales, not everyone is lovable, beautiful, or destined to find a soulmate. I have male friends who face endless rejection; even those with decent money find that the best they can achieve is being used as a Geldautomat. Is it worth it?
