What women think is gonna happen when they post nude pics public on web? And people that found out that are wrong?

how can you be doing this and not feel an overwhelming sense of shame and lack of skill

[–]AskLwsTmh 1136 points1137 points1138 points 6 years ago (106 children) | Copy Link

Because they’ve probably been told how amazing and perfect they are all their lives.

[–]kaczan3 333 points334 points335 points 6 years ago (94 children) | Copy Link

They are being told that because they demand it. I'd gladly tell them they suck, but I'd be destroyed. Don't get the cause and effect the other way around.

[–]johnnysteen 122 points123 points124 points 6 years ago (91 children) | Copy Link

Be a man and stop worrying about that

[–]Siganid 52 points53 points54 points 6 years ago (89 children) | Copy Link

Seriously.

No one has the power to destroy you with their words.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind 53 points54 points55 points 6 years ago (85 children) | Copy Link

They can destroy you by using their words to rally up mobs though.

That's what cancel culture is all about afterall.

[–]VladdyTheDaddyPutin 16 points17 points18 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just cancel all the haters GG NO RE

[–]Siganid 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (82 children) | Copy Link

They actually can't. If you allow yourself to be "destroyed" by threats to take away things that weren't real in the first place you've been living a lie anyway.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind 13 points14 points15 points 6 years ago (25 children) | Copy Link

Elaborate on this. Because more often than not they make dononnthese threats and people have been doxxed and had their livlyhoods taken away because clueless bosses want to push problems out as fast as possible.

Are you suggesting jobs aren't a real thing? Or mobs aren't real?

[–]Siganid 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link

I'm suggesting that you disengage from jobs that require you to live a lie, and that you be aware enough to avoid situations where a mob could form.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link

Again elaborate. What kind of jobs require you to lie?

If anything people lie on the internet or at least not tell the whole truth persicely to not be identified. And doxxing is when people release information you don't want others knowing, such as home address or place of business.

And have you seen the news lately? These people are eager for dragons to slay and so will attack people for the smallest crimes and slights. I think they driven 3 you ng artists to near suicide because their fanart of cartoons were too thin. Hell those covington kids had their school shut down over bomb threats because Nick sandmann dared to simply smile at the a use he was getting.

I dont this k you know what you are talking about because what you described does not match current reality.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Tech, for example.

Recall James Damore's situation? Remember how he claimed that people had to hide their political views?

That's living a lie.

The entire point of the scam is to get you to invest enough effort that they can leverage that investment to control you.

I dont this k you know what you are talking about because what you described does not match current reality.

I can see you are not ready to observe reality. I hope you get there someday.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

What about regular folks who just work an office job or retail and get fired because vindictive people are claiming they are racist when they are not ie they will lie to hurt you. Cuz damore wasn't the only person being doxxed.

[–]Siganid-1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Learn a skill.

Once you have a valuable skill it doesn't matter how much society hates you, they will need your skill.

The "oppression" you face is absolutely paltry in comparison to the resistance faced by the various waves of migrants that built this country. Each successive wave got comfortable and resisted the newcomers, but as long as the newcomers were willing to build value in themselves they succeeded.

Learn a trade. They are just as in demand now as ever.

Shit hasn't really even changed, you just expected to be handed a privileged place in society because of your identity and it didn't happen.

Build a place for yourself anyway. Millions of others have.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You aren't familiar with blackballing and the aforementioned mobs going after your place of business right?

Because people out for blood will do nothing but attack.

Hell we had rocket scientist and geneticists ran out of the profession because of cancel culture. And they were not just big names but Giants in their feilds.

It seriously sounds like you don't know figure one about the current social climate and how people will lie about you to hurt you.

I mean look at what happened to Johnny Depp last year when Amber leads lied about domestic abuse. He is a bigger draw and had more clout but because of the metoo movement he got kicked off of the franchise he was the star of and until recently had his reputation ruined.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Yet you don't seem to be paying attention to the long term outcomes of these examples you choose...

In almost every case, it's backfiring on the aggressors.

Possibly not the geneticist, but give it time.

They don't actually have the power unless you give it to them. They are terrorists, and if you deny them their terror they have no other viable leverage.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Again elaborate. Because the argument wasn't that people will wosen up to how merit Trump's identity it was that neferious people will use everything in their power to cancel you.

It's only backfiring now because the aggressors have cried wolf too many times and have attacked people the public actually supported. Before that they only attacked acceptable targets and the greater public beleoevd their lies and joined in not knowing better.

You just admitted yourself that the geneticst's life was ruined for the foreseeable future. And given how he's pushing 80 now he may not live to see his name restored.

You are right mere insults and slander can't harm you alone but that is why they tell these things to authorities like employers and police and try to aquire sensitive information that can impact your life.

Bei g the most in demand chef in the world or the authority on IT will not mean a thing if you are barred from major banks or have your superior take you off the top projects.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You just admitted yourself that the geneticst's life was ruined for the foreseeable future. And given how he's pushing 80 now he may not live to see his name restored.

Hyperbole.

Ruined? No. I bet he doesn't give it much worry. He's already retired and untouchable. If he's worried about his "legacy" then the period of struggle will only serve to grow it as long as his research was honest and scientifically valid.

It's obvious you are heavily invested in justifying your fears and self defeating. Sad to see, I hope you grow out of it.

A better way exists, but your single moms and schoolmarms won't teach it to you.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

He had to move to Japan to get any more work. He literally had to move to another country because he was blacklisted in his home country. Cancel culture has given him consoquences.

And what the hell are you talking about? Who is talking about single mothers?

Do you even know what side of the culture war you are on? Cuz the single mothers aren't the ones complaining about Twitter mobs they are the ones summoning them.

[–]Siganid-2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Cancel culture has given him consoquences.

It cannot take away anything of real value. You just choose not to see it.

And what the hell are you talking about?

If you don't know by now...

Who is talking about single mothers?

You, but you don't seem to be aware of the wellspring of your life's guiding philosophy.

Do you even know what side of the culture war you are on?

Neither. They are both full of idiots. This is the most prosperous time in human history, fighting a war would be ridiculous.

Cuz the single mothers aren't the ones complaining about Twitter mobs they are the ones summoning them.

And they are the ones that taught you to be such a whiny little crybaby bitch, too.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Money and the means to aquire it are not things of real value? Because that is why the mob looks for businesses and employers and make lies up to have them drop you.

What do you think cancel culture refers to? They want to cancel your livelihood regardless of what it is.

First quote me where I talk about single mothers cuz that is patently false. Second please explain my philosophy to me so we know we are on the same page. Cuz it sounds like you are putting words in my mouth since all I ever talked about here was how people who want to harm you will look for the weakspot everyone has and will use authority figures to attack said weak spots. Ie doxx your address and tell the cops criminals live at said address.

And I see the vague faux philosopher can't tell the difference between the map and the territory. It explains so.much.

And a personal attack, last refuge of the emotional idiologue.

If these single.mothers taught me what I know why would I be agaisnt them?

You can't even see the individual factions and you are lumping them into one mess.

It's why you can't talk about specific incidents and have concrete advice you literally don't know what you talk about.

[–]Siganid-1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Well, I tried.

It's your life.

None of the shit you are so scared of actually matters much, but you do you.

I really feel sorry you've chosen to defeat yourself, but oh well.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Having a stable job and no worries about protesters or anti fa are not things to worry about?

[–]Siganid-1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

They are.

Which is why you don't build a foundation on sand.

Find a job antifa can't take from you. Don't chase "opportunities" that will be taken away if you express your political views.

If your job can be taken away by a lie about your politics, you chose your career path poorly.

[–]M0thLivesMatter2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Find a job antifa can't take from you. Don't chase "opportunities" that will be taken away if you express your political views.

Have you ever held a job in your life? there is no loyalty for employees. If an employer feels that you are even the slightest burden they will drop you like a used tissue. That’s what cancel culture thrives on, making you a pariah so people distance themselves from you.

If your job can be taken away by a lie about your politics, you chose your career path poorly.

Do tell me what job I should take then, because it sounds to me like you’re saying I should avoid any job that has even an iota of status, influence, or notoriety, because it’s just going to be taken away from me. It sounds like you’re saying I should stick to jobs where I’m a fucking peon and have nothing to my name but a minimum wage paycheck.

And leave the actual jobs to people like you? Hell no, fuck off.

[–]Siganid-1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I've been at work since 3am, so yes I've held a job.

because it sounds to me like you’re saying I should avoid any job that has even an iota of status, influence, or notoriety, because it’s just going to be taken away from me.

You've misunderstood because you took it out of context.

The statements are a response to an obvious schizophrenic who is shaking in fear of "cancel culture" to the point that he doesn't think it's worth it to even try to succeed.

My example to try and show him that it is worth trying is the President of the United States, who just yesterday had a victory against the exact cancel culture he's so terrified of.

So for you to try and claim I'm telling you not to seek power and influence is a strange takeaway from my comments.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Give examples please because as we seen nothing can't be touched. If you own your own business they can blacklist you and damage your reputation of you are still in business they will tell the banks to drop you so you can't claim the money you earn.

They made I believe the founder of a subset of genetic science leave the damn country because they didn't like a joke. And that seemed like a pretty untouchable job.

And they dont attack for political views they attack anyone they percieve as wrong. They will even lie about the nature of the offense if it means greater force is applied.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

President of the United States, for one.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Richard Nixon and kfk are examples of the presidency not protecting you. If someone wants you out they will take you out.

And cancel culture makes it easy to take common people out.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Looping back to your "well not everyone wins so we should all quit at the starting line" refrain?

Schoolmarms gave you a lot of gold stars, I see.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Where the hell have I said that???

It's actually the opposite of what I am saying.

Cancel culture is when outsiders try to sabature success via unethical means.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Anyone successful had to fight to get there.

Sabotaging success is simply the human condition.

Your entire argument has been to shit on any method of fighting against cancel culture.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I don't even know how to respond to this it is a fractal of ignorance.

You win this argument by overweimg your opponent.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You seem easily overweimg'ed.

I hope you learn to fight for your dreams someday instead of cowering in fear waiting for mommy government to rescue you.

[–]Gerue 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (51 children) | Copy Link

It's easy to forget that humans are social animals, we need validation from an in group for our mental health. The whole "just ignore them" bollocks only works if you're already accepted in a large group.

[–]Siganid -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (50 children) | Copy Link

"No man is an island."

Sure, but the point of that saying is that being male often requires you to be so self sufficient that you seem like one.

Divorce is one event that illustrates this. Women get surrounded by supportive fakers, men usually just get ignored.

Yet men aren't "destroyed" by this, the majority reinvent themselves and come out more motivated and stronger.

The more dangerous path is to let the world exploit your fear to control you.

[–]Gerue 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Yeah that's true but consider where those people going through such hardship usually end up. They either make a new friend circle or strengthen an old one, now consider where those end up that have failed such journeys. Usually they end up depressed with little to no friends, ofcourse there are exceptions but usually in the face of hardship those who come out for the better end up with more or stronger friendships, usually both. That's the issue I take with the advice to just ignore them, more often then not that advice is given in the context of severe bullying or extreme social ostracization. Those people don't need thicker skin, they need better friends.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

So you should give up your autonomy and let society dictate your path because sometimes people fail when they choose to chase their dreams?

Sounds miserable. Isn't this the plot of "Office Space?"

[–]Gerue2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Just because you have friends doesn't mean that you give up your individuality. Why would you assume it works like that?

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

This is the second strawman comment you've made.

I didn't say that having friends forces you to give up individuality.

I did say that living in fear of "cancel culture" does force you to live a lie.

Try to read more carefully, perhaps?

[–]KaltatheNobleMind 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (45 children) | Copy Link

Why does all of your advice sound like empty platitudes that sound nice but offer no help?

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Because you are used to fake help from people who seek to exploit you, and your manhood has been taken away.

[–]Gerue2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

No it's because you fail to address the root of the problem. Social hardship isn't fixed by retreating from people, that's like treating food poisoning by consuming rotting meat. Just like how the cure to food poisoning is time and a healthy diet, the cure to social hardship is time and a healthy social life. Ofcourse we are talking about psychology so exception do exist but that's the gist of it.

[–]Siganid1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I didn't say to retreat from people.

I am proposing that you only allow people as much influence as they deserve, instead of living in fear of what they might do if you tell them how you feel or think.

[–]Gerue2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Huh I think I've miss communicated something. When I said that we need people to validate us what I meant was that we need people in our life that we can trust to respect and care about us and that we are mentally weak in the absence of such people. Did you interpret that differently by any chance? Because it looks to me like we're both arguing something else.

EDIT: Never mind I'm an idiot, just reread the entire thread didn't notice you were talking in the context of cancel culture. I have a bad history with bullying so when I was skimming the comments I read that you should ignore people, got pissed and jumped the gun. That's my bad. I do want to thank you for staying calm during our discussion that's sadly a rarity nowadays.

[–]Siganid1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Have a nice day.

I agree that friends and genuine people are very important, and in no way meant to infer that we should isolate ourselves.

I do think it's also important to have the ability to ignore negative people, such as those practicing "cancel culture."

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Elaborate. Because I don't see any concrete advice on how to go about things and whatnot just telling people institutions are bad and things are lies without explaining why either of that is.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Learn a skill that is needed by society.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

And that will prevent blacklisting and police raiding your place of business because of false accusations?

Because swatting is a thing. Cops will not care you were the one town welder who worked on so many public projects when someone says you are housing a bomb.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

They absolutely will care when no bomb is found.

Swatters have gone to jail.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

But the damage has been done. You have your work disrupted you have felt the real danger of a police raid and being a mob there is more than one person who will call when the last swatter is arrested and it's not like the police will just of ore a bomb threat.

I mean why do you think swatting is a thing?

These people count on Swift and aggressive police action which they always deliver upon.

It's like you have no idea what these situations entail and why people take issue

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

It's like you have no idea what these situations entail and why people take issue

You keep saying this when in fact the opposite is true.

Your fear gives them power. Without it, they really are just empty shells.

It's too bad you are so schizophrenic that you fear such weak people.

Examples of success stories are everywhere around you, but you've hyperfocused on the negatives.

Sad to see.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

So just ignoring the battering ram taking out your door will make the seat team go away? And not consider you a threat and put you in handcuffs if they don't shoot you down?

You would be right if all cancel culture consited of is the odd badmouthing of Twitter nobodies. But it isn't just that they go out of their way to find sensitive information that can affect your life and use every tool available to do just that for maximum effect.

They will use the report button on various sites to flag you as content to be removed. They will contact employers in hopes of getting you fired, they will spread lies to important people so they can prevent your success.

We have documented cases we have victim testimony we even have tutorials on how to do these things effectively.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You let them teach you to defeat yourself just by making you so scared of what "they might do" that you won't even give life a try.

Only you can help yourself.

I hope someday you get it.

Do you really think I haven't experienced being reported? Banned? False accusations? Bullshit?

They really do not have the power unless you give it to them.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Elaborate on the first point because I was not told swatting happens I seen it, they are not unfounded claims being used as a boogieman we have seen the consoquences and the means to do it.

From the way you talk about these things no no you have not.

You are free to show me what they have done and how you countered them or withstood them.

You can even post your job and home and whatnot to put your money where your mouth is. I mean if doxxing personal info won't hurt you giving said info up voluntarily won't hurt you either.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

It's irrelevant whether you think it's credible that I have life experiences or not.

The problem there is that it's incredibly stupid of you to assume I don't.

You are obviously lacking a male role model, and now are trying to play the victim role to "win" an argument.

It'd be surprising that you'd act so pathetic, but you simply don't know any better.

Sad.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Not just life experience but proof of your claim that the stuff cancel culture covers does t matter. It literally won't matter if antifa or yourself posted your current place of work cuz not like it'll affect you right?

And how am I playing victim? You make claims with no justification.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Proof of my claim?

How about yesterday's vote?

Are you completely unaware of the reality you exist in?

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Yesterday's vote on what? Who did you vote for and where and why?

Being so vague about what you do in real life does not tell me you don't think cancel culture is real it tells me it is all to real for you and you take steps to protect yourself from it.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

So you are really that clueless?

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

What does the Senate aquitting Trump of impeachment crimes have to do with how your job is so untocuhable you can afford to give out its location?

I know people didn't buy I to SJW bullshit when they voted Trump into the presidency and how antifa has been doing it's hardest to make the maga hate a hate symbol and attack people over it.

The argument was that cancel culture doesn't exist unless you let it either by feeling hurt by the bad words or living in a way that the bad claims can affect you.

I wanted evidence and proof of confidence from you by posting your own sensitive job info For all to see since it would not matter.

You refusing to and hiding behind the actions of others tells me the opposite that you are as vulnurable as the rest of us and you need to cover yourself.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You do realize that I literally have photos of my job on Reddit, right?

It's not like I've even remotely tried to hide what I do, but I'm not going to spoon-feed you.

Trump's victory yesterday should show you that it's possible to beat this "cancel culture" you are so petrified in fear of. If you choose to remain powerless and live in fear I suppose that's an option.

Of COURSE you'll have to fight if you choose to try and live honestly, but you can win. The terrorists really have no power unless you give it to them, whether you choose to believe in yourself or give up and hand the victory to the cancel culture you claim to fear.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Photos with your name and face and other identifying information? Like YouTube celebrities like PewDiePie and h3h3.

Cuz anyone can take a picture of a desk a tool or document and say they do this and that as a job. No way to verify.

And Trump's victory is only because he is mad popular and has most authorites at his back so mere tweets can't take him down nor would swatting or reporting to his "boss".

Johnny Depp is another example of this as he is a beloved actor over the nobody his accuser was and the general disgust with the metoo movement made Amber leads attempt at cancel culture faulter.

Nobody but the rich famous and powerful can survive cancel culture because all their tactics bank on having culnurabities the rich famous and powerful don't.

Notch is a famous untouchable because he is so rich he doesn't even have a job to get him fired from and being the Creator of a massivliy popular game gives him too much clout for nobodies to tarnish.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Nobody but the rich famous and powerful can survive cancel culture

Bullshit.

Entire countries of poor people have survived marxism.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I am not talking about Marxism I am talking about cancel.culture.

Poorer countries tend to be rules by might makes bright tryrants who make their countries poor via corruption.

They cancel opponents with militias under their command,no 3rd party needed.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Where do you think cancel culture came from?

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Cancel.culture comes from vindictive people of any political or religoius or philisopcal background realizing they can get their way by exploiting the good will of the people and authority to take out people they don't like.

Why do you think we had satanic panic and closeted jgbt?

[–]Siganid1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Let me guess, swat teams made gay people and satanists hide behind their collection of silk shirts?

Also:

Are you aware that both of those examples show very clearly that my solution is a path to success?

Both of those movements ignored their detractors and refused to give them the power over them.

As a result, it's ok to be both gay and satantist today.

Those movements did exactly what I proposed you do, which you've been shitting on because you are scared.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

...what?

The satanic panic and the gay scare were examples of right wing cancel culture.

Devil warshipper and pervert was their equivolents of racist and sexist, scary labels that you can slap onto people you don't like and have more powerful authorities deal with them.

Those labels stopped being effective as people wisned up and defended freedom of expression and LGBT rights.

It is actually why the left can do what they do now, they still claim the right wingers are the ones opressing the people when cancel culture is proof they are the oppressors. Since a society that fully supports racism and sexism would not readily punish some.oen acused of either.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You seem to be arguing against something I didn't say.

The satanic panic and the gay scare were examples of right wing cancel culture.

Sure, fine. I didn't say otherwise. I accept your definition.

You should take the time to learn about the methods those movements used to gain the freedom from what you call right wing cancel culture.

They fought it by doing exactly what I said from the beginning. They lived their lives as they wanted and lived as if the "right wing cancel culture" had no power over them.

Eventually, it didn't.

If they had been whiny little bitches like you, we'd still have it.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You said Marxism was the origin of cancel culture. I contested that by showing examples of right wing cancel culture.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

And I accepted your counter argument as valid, but you still seem to be pissed off that I agree with you.

Maybe you just enjoy being angry?

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

My mistake I jumped the gun and overreacted.

[–]Siganid1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Well at least you didn't forget to downvote my comment while apologizing.

That'd be a tragic oversight.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

And how am I playing victim? You make claims with no justification.

Whining about personal attacks while being a whiny little bitch in general.

I make true statements, you'd have to remember what you wrote to understand them though...

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You don't understand the nature of those claims do you?

I am not upset you called me names I am pointing out how people who can't back up their arguments try to discredit the arguments of their opponent by attaching charatcer which has no relevence to the debate.

I am saying you have so little substance to your arguments you have to tell others I am a whiny bitch to save face instead of actually prove I am wrong.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

My calling you out as a whiny bitch is not relevant to your comments. It's pointing out that you being a whiny bitch is evidence that your behavior is the result of you not having a male role model, being influenced mainly by women.

It's obvious all of that was too complicated for you because you seem completely unable to grasp simple concepts, but oh well.

You being a whiny bitch is the evidence, not the counterargument.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

And what is all of this relevent for?

The issue this argument is about is wether cancel culture is a real theat or not.

Wether or not someone had the right role models in life has no bearing on wether 3rd parties can weild their influence to hurt you via contacting authorites.

It's why I called it an attack on charatcer. It adds nothing to the argument outside of saying "don't listen to this person they are bad because they are bad".

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

The issue this argument is about is whether you should give up and let "cancel culture" win by giving in to terrorists, like you do.

You being a whiny bitch is extremely relevant, because that is what needs to be fixed for you to break free of your irrational fear that's holding you back.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

It is not you giving into terrorists it is the superiors who control your life who give into them.

You being fired by your boss is not you quitting, you getting arrested by police over false charges is not you turning yourself in because you were told to.

These are external forces you have no control over which is why it is so dangerous.

Doubt the average person is so cowadrly and submissive a mere tweet will make them quit their job. It is why these people contact the boss of this average person instead cuz they know the boss has power over them.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

So let's flip this around then. We both seem to agree cancel culture is bad.

I've proposed a way to fight back.

You've shit all over it and said I'm wrong because they are like, totally super scary and wear black masks.

So how do you plan to beat them? What's your better solution? What are you going to do?

So far it just seems you plan to cry until your enemy is drowned in your tears.

I think they've got scuba gear.

[–]KaltatheNobleMind1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You didn't propose a way to fight back cancel culture you just said it doesnt exist and that any victim of it was responsible for their own demise.

We fight cancel.culture by making their tools ineffective or illegal. Give employees better rights to not be fired for things outside of their job, make the sharing of unrelated but vital info a punihsable crime.

Have the police learn about swatting and figure out ways to tell apart simple swatting from the real deal

Make it illegal to let banks deny service to people because of rumor or idiological grounds.

Punish false accusers by making them do community service to clear the accused name.

Just telling people ignore it or you deserve it for not meeting my impossible standards isn't solving a problem it's justifying the current system.

[–]Siganid0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You didn't propose a way to fight back cancel culture you just said it doesnt exist and that any victim of it was responsible for their own demise.

Have you really been making such stupid arguments because you misunderstood me from the start?

😜🤪🤔🙄

Also no: You don't beat cancel culture by making the government more powerful, you utter ignoramus.

I suppose it should have been obvious you'd think the solution was to call your mommy government and hope they fix it for you.

Too lazy to fight yourself free.

[–]Tahlmai 46 points47 points48 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Well, I’m Brazilian, and since this happened here in Brazil, I can give you some sort of information about this video:

In the original video these girls claimed to be Parkour PROS, it wasn’t some exercising event. This event was to try to prove that women are just as good in parkour as men are (Never in my life I heard or thought that men are better at parkour than women by default, it requires skill and basically anyone can acquire skill if they train enough).

This video instantaneously became a meme here, and those girls made some sort of a “REEEEEEEE” reply to all the people laughing at this video.

They can claim to be parkour pros if they want, but this video clearly shows that they have no skill.

[–]RaiThioS 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Post Reee video please. For more science of course.

[–]Tahlmai 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]_Oomph_ 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Or would motivate them to prove the haters wrong and become great.

And being honest, this type of exercise is not going to do much unless they're doing this for hours daily, and if this is how you perform after a while, perhaps it's time to accept this isn't your thing.

Big props for exercising, but no one is entitled to praise based on mediocrity.

[–]mantrap2 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Actually the bigger issue is lack of physical strength. Honestly doing parkour without being strong enough is pretty damn suicidal!

Even most men couldn't handle the strength but the average man has a lot of upper body strength than the average women and these in the video look like the bottom end of the distribution on strength.

Well, it looks like it was newbies first learning how to do parkour, which is fine. It probably would have served the story better if they would have shown one skilled female doing parkour.

Also, obviously, its silly to even bring up that parkour makes people think of men: obviously that's the case because its mostly men who do it currently.

[–]maiqbr 157 points158 points159 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That was here in Brazil. The girls consider themselves parkour pros, not newbies. Most of the girls in the video practice for over 2-3 years. They posted a really big text in facebook after the vídeo became a meme in Brazil. It’s really nice to see girls in parkour. I practice for over 10 years and in my group no girls asked to join it or just to be teached, and we are all open for new members, our training is totally open for public to watch and ask to join it or try it. Some girls really try and are good at it, but none have joined us yet. But for real? This girls in the video... come on... it’s a meme delivered in a golden plate.

[–]kaczan3 181 points182 points183 points 6 years ago (25 children) | Copy Link

Everything that requires physical activity yes.

Women can be just as good at things that don't.

Though they usually don't grow up in competitive environments and never really push to be the best.

[–]Cookiedoughjunkie 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

There are certain physical attributes that women do excel at. Just most competitive sports do not take advantage of these skills which is where you see a huge male to female discrepancy.

[–]Valac_I whiteKnight for fatties 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Gymnastics endurance running swimming.

These are all things women have a distinct advantage in.

For some reason they are far better endurance runners than we are.

But yep most women aren't into competitive sports and never pursue them so they are never at that level which is why the world record holders for endurance running are all men.

[–]Cookiedoughjunkie 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The reason they're better in a lot of these is muscle durability vs weight. As women can be pound for pound stronger than men due to their low weight yet still strong. So they can push for longer periods of time from less strain to fatique.

This is also why they're such great swimmers and jockeys where the rider's weight matters.

But gymnastics, men actually do better.

However, out of pro parkour, women can top due to the endurance AND how easy it is for them to lift their own weight. The problem with this story is these were a bunch of out of shape talentless women.

[–]Valac_I whiteKnight for fatties -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Flexibility is their distinct advantage in gymnastics we Excell in different areas than they do.

[–]Cookiedoughjunkie 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jvz3F4HP170&t=309s here's an example of what I'm talking about.

[–]Cookiedoughjunkie -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Flexibility, yes, but a man can be really flexible. Now, for competitions it's not the flexibility but technique and balance and there are insane men that run the game. Most people don't watch men's gymnastics so they aren't aware of the wide margin there.

Not huge into gymnastics either so I don't know the term, but there's this thing where they have to do 3 consecutive backflips or a performance on a balance beam. Women look graceful doing it, sure. But the men do it so fast and accurate and in one case, the back flips were without use of hands and yet they still landed on their feet at these ridiculous speeds which even the best woman couldn't compare with by a long shot.

[–]HerrBarrockter -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Ya this has just become the new incel sub.

[–]kvothes-lute -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

yeaaaa.. i have come to realize that this is just a “i hate women, they deserve the worst!” incel sub. gross.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Its not, this sub has just turned in to MGTOW.

[–]FourThirteen_413 33 points34 points35 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I dunno, it looks like they're practicing. You should always practice things slowly, and plan out what you're going to do, get the basics together, then work on speed. It's the same with music. I've been playing guitar for 23 years, but I won't look at someone practicing basic chords and slowly running up scales with a metronome and poke fun at them.

I guess it just looks like they're practicing some moves they want to perform, slowly, making sure things like positioning and angles are correct, before they go running off the edge of something and break all their bones.

[–]elyermi 53 points54 points55 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I personally trained parkour for 6 years and I have to say, girls are applauded for every little thing they do, part of it is due to the reason that they have it much harder than men because their weight is concentrated in the lower part of the body and legs, as opposed to men who have it in the chest which makes it easier to jump. Non the less, it is true that 80% of people are way to much inclusive. Although there's no need to be mean anyways, they're just having fun.

[–]kikkroxx777 36 points37 points38 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The music is so perfect

[–]SHOkir 24 points25 points26 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

when i hear parkour i think of an Asian woman with short black hair jumping between buildings which are all very white with some red highlights

[–]Zanakii 9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Look into a Mirror and deep down we all have a little Asian inside us doing parkour, it helps take off the Edge.

[–]l3monsta 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think it would have worked better if you had said we have a little Faith inside us

[–]Zanakii 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

nice

[–]Kevc_84 26 points27 points28 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That’s fucking funny. That woman doing the slowest 360 at 0:39 is hilarious

[–]unsurelife83 25 points26 points27 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Could someone please explain where is the PPD part in this video? I watched it couple of times but not getting the gist.

[–]FresnoMac -5 points-4 points-3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There isn't any.

This is a post hating on women trying to learn parkour. The incels in this sub are taking over.

[–]I_am_not_hon_jawley 80 points81 points82 points 6 years ago (33 children) | Copy Link

I don't think they're trying to use their pass really.

[–]kaczan3 33 points34 points35 points 6 years ago (32 children) | Copy Link

They are a groub of women who are drawing attention to the fact that they are a group of women and they accept some tv report about themselves.

[–]MechicanDogtaquero 9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (29 children) | Copy Link

well then the pass was kinda accepted

[–]MechicanDogtaquero 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

also this is latinoamerica we are taking about, once they did a report about a "genius child" who built his own computer, buying parts and seeing a video on YouTube, I am not making this up, the report is real and the kid himself said that in the video

[–]CrawlingOnMyCrawn 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's Brazil, so it's definitely a circus.

[–]I_am_not_hon_jawley -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (26 children) | Copy Link

How? Having pride in being a girl isn't a pussy pass. Getting away with an injustice because you're a woman is a pussy pass and this isn't that. Being horrible at it isn't bad. They're women it's to be expected

[–]MechicanDogtaquero -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

well, I believe this is a pussypass because they are getting attention by the tv just because they are women, even if this attention isn't that gained because they are kinda bad at what they are doing

[–]I_am_not_hon_jawley 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Life must be hard for you if this bothers you.

[–]MechicanDogtaquero 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

it doesn't really, I was just explaining why I believe this was a pussypass, I am in fact doing homework and playing minecraft

[–]sauceyFella 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes. The two essentials

[–]I_am_not_hon_jawley -3 points-2 points-1 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Lol that's exactly what I expected you to be doing. Angry teen boys mad girls don't like them.

[–]MechicanDogtaquero 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

dude... you are literally raging in the internet over a video of women doing lame parkour

[–]I_am_not_hon_jawley -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Haha raging? Put down the mountain dew kid

[–]FresnoMac 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yea that'd be you.

[–]FresnoMac -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

And why shouldn't they get attention if they're trying to learn an extremely male dominated sport?

Like why wouldn't that make news?

If you have a problem with this, you're literally the stereotypical incel they speak about these days.

Lmao hating on women trying to learn a sport.

[–]ShitLordOfTheRings 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think it shouldn't make the news, because there are many women in parcour who can do better than what's shown this video - I'm sure they could have found some in Brazil, too.

Making it a news event when an overweight girl hops down a step is bizarre - essentially it says "well, that's pretty good ... for a woman". I don't know whether incels have a problem with these incredibly low expectations, but feminists should.

Also "male-dominated" is a weird expression in this context. There is nothing there which prevents access by women, no restrictions to facilities, no club memberships, no special equipment needed which is available only to men. Getting into that sport requires literally nothing but the will to do it. And it's not like it was about something like a woman demonstrating that women can be good architects or surgeons, or anything actually meaningful. It's just a pretense at breaking through a barrier which was never even there.

[–]CrawlingOnMyCrawn -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

Having pride in being a girl is cringey.

[–]I_am_not_hon_jawley -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

No you're just pathetic

[–]CrawlingOnMyCrawn -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

[–]I_am_not_hon_jawley -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

[–]CrawlingOnMyCrawn -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

[–]I_am_not_hon_jawley -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

I forgive you for being an Incel. Playing tekken at your mom's house is pretty demoralizing. Don't worry some day maybe a girl will want to touch you. Maybe.

[–]CrawlingOnMyCrawn1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Lmao Imagine being such a worthless pitiful snowflake that thinks dating adds to your worth.

Sorry ( not really ) to disappoint, I'm not interested in relationships. Women are the pinacle of uninteresting.

Get a life, you braindead neckbeard.

[–]I_am_not_hon_jawley1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Hahahahahahaha yeah I'm sure you're just not interested hahahaha. I get it man middle school is hard.

[–]CrawlingOnMyCrawn2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I see... so you actually have autism.

Whatever suits your dellusions, nu-male lmao.

[–]I_am_not_hon_jawley1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Haha you beat yourself sweetheart. At the end of the day I know for sure you're a massively depressed virgin. There's literally no other reason in the world for you to hate women so much if you actually don't care about them. Do us all a favor and submit to those dark thoughts.

[–]CrawlingOnMyCrawn2 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I don't hate women at all. These kind of dellusions will just make your schizophrenia harder to treat, bud.

I get that you're a desperate angry hipster trying to impose whatever internal insecurity on other people, but that just makes you even more of a proper incel. Such a sad life.

I won't tell you to grow a pair of balls, because that's nearly impossible, but try to be less of a useless antifa and try to make a contribution to society. Block-block, sissy.

[–]I_am_not_hon_jawley1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Hahaha you lost all power when I saw you get a hard dick for cartoon characters. That's how sad you're life is. Smart money says if you died tomorrow no one but your mommy cares.

My bet is you can't respond because you're in homeroom hahahaha

[–]retryer1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

[–]FresnoMac -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

First of all that's not a pussy pass.

Parkour is a men heavy sport. There are very few women who are pro at it.

So naturally when women would make it a point to learn it, you'd think it'd make news?

You seem to be upset about the fact that women are learning parkour and laughing at the fact that they aren't doing a good job at it (which is because they're absolute beginners).

[–]kes_unum 49 points50 points51 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]FresnoMac 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]RichterNYR35 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hi, I get what this sub is about. But the girls were practicing. When you practice athletic shit, you do it slow and methodical to build up the muscle memory.

This isn’t really fair to them.

[–]darthferv 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I dont know, i really think those are just rookies learning the basics, they couldn't do that and think is parkour, like come one

[–]Select_Stupid_Host 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Batman0127 17 points18 points19 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

why is this on this sub, these woman are just practicing a sport not trying to abuse their gender to get something unfairly. I'm in a parkour club with both men and women and it does kinda look like this especially for lesser experienced people. smh this is borderline just woman hating

[–]Mythandros 16 points17 points18 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Making fun of something and hating something is not the same thing.

Although this post doesn't belong in this sub.

[–]Lens_Perchance 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree. I don't really have a problem with the PPD concept but this is a stretch. We should be applauding anyone who is out of shape that is actively trying to be more physically adept.
Someone said that the video producers were trying to glorify them as some kind great example but that's really no fault of the participants.

[–]Zanakii 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Welcome to PPD, if there's women in it we hate it.

[–]bearassbobcat0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

[–]Thordaddy77 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

More like Halfasskour... Am I right? Am I right?

[–]ianpbh 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I will explain here since there's some people that don't understood. There are plenty of events of parkour around the world, these girls got upset to see that the most people on these events are men, and created an event with only women. They called the media to record, and there's when their pass got denied, you can't force people to find the things you do 'beautiful' just 'cause you're a woman (like the clearly forced guy in the end). I know people have to start somewhere, but the girls here are not trying to start a parkour career, they just wanted attention. We're not making fun just because they're women, and i absolutely don't hate them.

This is dumb as hell. I used to practice parkour and this one woman was a million times better at it than anyone, she was insanely strong and very flexible. She used to work in a circus as a gymnast.

[–]stephthumb 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What is this song???

[–]Xaviro_ 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

This music is too appropriate. I can also probably say i might have seen a woman or two that have done parkour over my very little parkour watching. Honestly, whats the fucking point? Why? You can be involved in parkour, but genuinely try to be good at it. You dont get a pussy pass for just doing something. God these sorts of things are a clown fest, thats all they are. Can we just stop talking about sexism and racism, like morgan freeman said? The more we talk about them the more they become an issue, all we need to do is “stop talking about it” -morgan freeman

These things are much less of an issue when you dont make them a big deal, like these clowns and their whole thing with putting women in everything and expecting praise and glory and awards. Maybe work hard at it like everything else, or accept the fact that theres a lot of men in certain things, just like theres women in other things. You dont see a lot of female soldiers, construction workers, or law enforcement, and thats okay, but im also not saying a female soldier, construction worker or police officer doesnt exist. Wanna know why? Because they worked their way up there, trained hard for months and put their lives on the line because they want to, instead of sitting in an air-conditioned room where they are at no danger. On the flip side, you dont see that many male nurses, receptionists and similar stuff because many males want more competitive, dangerous jobs so they can make money, but some men do like a cozy life where they arent at risk.

God why cant it just be equality, its not empowering women, its empowering PEOPLE. Stop spreading this whole movement that one gender should be empowered when its both that should.

Also, theres no words for that limp-dicked white knight at the end, no honesty there.

Hey, I've practised with a Parkour association for a long time. I can clear some things up.

Yeah this doesn't fit the sub at all.

What you're seeing in this video is very obviously a beginner group, and the very slow method of going through different techniques is the smart way to practise. Parkour can be a lot harder than it looks, so all you're doing is making fun of some newbies. I guarantee that if you ever started you'd be doing the exact same thing.

The one thing in this video I do have a problem with is the apparent stereotype they're trying to stop - that parkour is a male thing. While it's true that the majority of parkourists are male, I have never seen that stereotype in my life.

I'm thinking I could do better than that, and I'm an untrained shortsighted 50 year old with a dodgy knee and no gallbladder

[–]The_real_bandito 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm a man and I wouldn't be in the event either due to my lack of skills in anything athletic tbh

[–]stealth941 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Wtf is this?

[–]fulldraw32 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If what she is doing is parkour then I'm Jesse La Flair

[–]Mammoth-Acadia 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What the fuck is this subreddit, it's just a bunch of people shitting on people for having some fun, even if they are unskilled. You shouldn't look at your shame to do shit as an achievement guys.

[–]yunglay-lay 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Parkour!!!

[–]Arteemiis1 points 6 years ago* [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

It's things like these that make me feel ashamed to be a woman... Why do you have to, no matter what, do something even when you are terrible at it, ffs? Why do we have to do those things although need suck at them? Was it too hard to find women who na do parkour, if they do desperately wanted to hold this event?

[–]vmuny 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

How tf do you think people GET good at stuff? Few people are naturally skilled, you have to do stuff you're terrible at to get better. And you still might terrible even with practice! If you enjoy something, being bad at it is no reason to stop. Not everything in life is a competition. Just have fun and don't worry about what other idiots think.

[–]Arteemiis 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, the only problem is that when you want to hold an event about something you don't get the absolute novices to promote it because then you look stupid

[–]tanmay0097 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think they are just beginners you incels

[–]Goasupreme 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I won't upvote this but I won't downvote it either

If these are pro parkour females it would be embarrassing but it's clearly not, most guys would start of like this. Even doing that roll on solid ground isn't as easy as it looks

[–]AttachableSheep 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How is this relevant to the subreddit again? I mean it's funny, but I feel like it doesn't fit here.

[–]Genei_no_Miria 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

“What a bunch of losers!” I cackle from my bedroom in my three-day-old underwear.

“Can you believe anyone would go out and embarrass themselves like this?” I shriek for nobody save my pet rat to hear.

“I bet I could do way better than these imbeciles!” I grunt, wiping the Dorito dust off my neckbeard only for it to slip into the folds of fat covering my body.

[–]wgretzskymscott-1 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Certain sports women should just stay out of. Skateboarding would be one. Ever seen a woman Pro skater ? If just looks weird. I dunno why. Today I learned we can add parkour to the list...

I love that millennials have to keep coming up new names for this shit.

It's just gymnastics done outside.

[–]4411WH07RY 9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

It was invented by an adult in the 80s as a movement system based on military obstacle courses.

That's a mighty old millenial.

[+]duoga1 points 6 years ago* [recovered] (4 children) | Copy Link

But it wasn't popular at all till all the cool videos of people doing flips came out.

What a funny coincidence, gymnastics has also been the formal movement system used to train the military since the Romans conquered Greece in 146BC

[–]Lens_Perchance 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Comments better than the post, as usual.

[–]4411WH07RY 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yea, they don't do that shit in the military so it's obviously evolved past that point. They also don't climb and jump off of buildings in gymnastics, so it's obviously evolved from there, too. Muay Thai and Karate both have kicks in them, but they're different things.

Maybe you're just a whiny ass boomer?

[–]Ilela 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

If I remember correctly, word parkour is either from 1920-ies or 1960-ies.

[–]beanbbeanie 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

To quote Wikipedia:

Parkour as a type of movement was established by David Belle in the late 1980s, …. The discipline was popularised in the late 1990s and 2000s through films, documentaries, video games and advertisements featuring the Yamakasi.

And the etymology of the word Parkour:

The word parkour derives from parcours du combattant (obstacle course), the classic obstacle course method of military training proposed by Georges Hébert. Raymond Belle used the term "les parcours" to encompass all of his training including climbing, jumping, running, balancing, and the other methods he undertook in his personal athletic advancement.

Here is the link to the Wikipedia article.

I’m not trying to go around saying “Ha! I got you! You’re wrong!”, just clear it up for you and other readers.

Thank you. Your response is very helpful

[–]hoh-domestic-d -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This should be removed. This is just a bunch of women trying things they don't normally do. There is nothing wrong with that, and if anything should be encouraged. Secondly, men would suck just as bad when they try something they have never done before.

This post just makes you look like a looser.

[–]FappinBob 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Men tend not to imitate women or get upset when they see women enjoying something by calling it 'stereotypical'...

No, this shouldn't be removed

[–]Balleuuh -3 points-2 points-1 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yikes the amount of women-hate in this sub is astounding. Actually makes me want to unsubscribe.

This is in no shape or form a 'pussy pass being denied'. This is just a group of women looking to do some physical activity. One they've probably only just started to learn. I'd love to see the incel alpha males with rageboners here do some parkour, see if they got the athleticism to do the stuff you see in parkour videos.

Since when is this sub about hating on women that have done nothing to deserve it?!

[–]yunglay-lay 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Chill keyboard warrior.

[–][deleted] -5 points-4 points-3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Can we stop posting incel shit that belongs on r/MGTOW? This is not a incel sub.
