I am fat because of poor diet (especially alcohol), lack of exercise and lack of sleep (often overlooked).

I don't understand how someone can think "most people can't help it" when until recent generations, before high calorie food became cheap and more readily available, the high over head in restaurants became labor and not food, etc. most people were not fat.

To be clear, you can say there may be an economic and social component to it, but it is certainly not possible for a whole generation of people to randomly have a medical "condition" that makes them fat.
