I've decided to start learning to use makeup because I want to be able to dress up when the situation requires it (Christmas parties, date nights, etc.). Besides wanting to be attractive to guys, I want to present myself to the world as a chic, polished woman. However, I do come across a lot of guy opinions on the internet that makeup is a form of female deception, it's artificial, and women who put too much time into it are superficial.

I sort of agree with things like contouring and false lashes because that is faking what you don't have. And I'm not into false advertising. So how do you strike a balance? Are there makeup practices you will never do because it's too "fake"? Is the RPW's goal or attitude for using makeup different from the mainstream's?
