I love to cook!! I'm definitely a live-to-eat type and not an eat-to-live. Cooking is one of my main creative outlets. My food looks beautiful, tastes great, and is relatively cheap and healthy. I probably take a little too much pride in it, but I remember how it made me whole day brighter when my mom mentioned she was making one of my favorites meals for dinner.

I wooed my husband when we were dating with my signature risotto, paired with lamb chops, asparagus, and a red wine demi glace. I think he said it might've been the nicest meal he'd ever had (we were 20 and he's not very picky).

There's a quote from The Devil Wears Prada, talking about how fashion is one of the greatest forms of art because you live your life in it. I like to make art that I can eat.

Me! I love cooking and it’s my love language to cook for others. I was super picky as a kid so now I must be making up for it. Learned to cook in college. I went to school in NYC and instead of eating out constantly (not budget friendly) we went to all the exotic markets and grocery stores and had lots of dinner parties learning recipes. I also studied abroad in Italy, did an internship in France and I have a Chinese grandmother, so those experiences covered a lot of cooking styles.

I’m self taught to the point where I’ve worked as a private sous chef for celebrities and also cheffed my own high end parties and retreats. Once I did a 4 course plated meal for 16 ppl, completely solo! I’m vegetarian myself now but I still know how to cook everything.

My partner loves my cooking and I love cooking for him. He was just saying tonight that because he was literally starved as a child before going to foster care, he really appreciates when someone makes him food. I also take pride in cooking for his 3 year old, especially getting a toddler to enjoy nutritious vegetarian meals. If there’s something my partner loves more than eating my food it’s watching his baby eat it. The kid is going to be an athlete like his daddy, but with quality nutrition he’s going to be unstoppable!

I know it haunts them, and I am so happy to cook for my man now. Every meal he thanks me profusely and tells me how good it is, how lucky he is, and always does the dishes!

Been cooking every single meal I eat for the last decade. It’s healthier, cheaper, and more fulfilling. And it’s impressive to people—not just men! Everything I make is restaurant-grade food and my husband has never once asked if we could go out to eat instead. He likes to cook too but absolutely adores having me make whatever he wants. I can grill up steaks (his favorite), prepare complex recipes from other cultures, whip up all the necessary condiments and ingredients for things from scratch, and more. It’s one of the best skills to have for anyone, not just women.

Even if you weren’t exposed to a lot of cooking as a kid, it really isn’t hard to start learning. Start with simple recipes you don’t need to buy a ton of equipment for. And something you’re confident you like already. Between step-by-step recipes and videos, I promise you it’s not that hard to get a grasp on.

My biggest tip, even if you’re a pro: always follow the recipe PERFECTLY the first time, mainly if you’re unfamiliar with making that type of food. If you change things up before having a baseline of what it should end up as, you won’t know if you messed something up or if the recipe just wasn’t good.

Cooking is an important skill. If you are a parent and have not taught ALL of your children regardless of gender to be proficient in the kitchen, you have failed hugely as a parent. My mother had many flaws but she refused to send adults out into the world who were unable to feed themselves. I have been cooking entire meals from scratch since before I finished elementary school. My husband definitely appreciates it and I plan to pass this on to my children.

Tonight I made my family some basic Mexican-style tacos. I marinated the chicken overnight, chopped up the toppings early and got to cooking. It took 30 minutes for a restaurant/taqueria quality meal and everyone loved it.

Somewhere, some men are congregating admitting that they’d actually like a woman who can cook even though they’re being shamed for it. I don’t know a single woman in my life under 30 that can cook besides me and my one friend. It’s simply not a priority these days.

The best time to start learning to cook is as a kid with grandma in the kitchen. The next best time is NOW! I’m not ready to jump Into dating yet (nun mode) but when I do, the kitchen is going to be my “big guns”.

Take cooking classes!! Has helped me make so many new friends and my boyfriend absolutely raves to everyone he knows about how we have had many fine dining experiences that blew his mind but nothing is as good as being able to relax at home and eat a fantastic steak I made him.

My father is vegetarian/pescatarian so I never learned how to cook meat. I can do fish - but meat I will not touch with a three foot pole. My SO sometimes does meat, but as it is so pricy we rarely have it. His family is „extreme worker“ - eaters and prefer meat, carbs and fat to produce.

the fact that you don’t know any woman under 30 that can cook is truly sad really. in my culture cooking is a pretty big deal and it’s also regarded as a gesture of love and respect for the people you cooked for, i can’t even imagine not sharing that with my loved ones!

I'm not the best cook ever but I love the feeling I get when my husband says how good it is. I miss cooking for him. I miss him cooking for me. He makes great steak. Lol
