3 impending nuclear bombs on the sexual marketplace and their implications

1. GENE EDITING

Gene editing is making giant strides forward and could be viable for humans in the next decade or two. Here's a video explaining the process:

The biggest intersexual implication of this technology is that it could enable us to create designer babies. Of course this means that people will optimize for genetic 10/10 kids with looks, intelligence and hardworking traits in abundance and low susceptibility to disease. This might reduce the power of hot alphas in the short term, since a beta bucks guy can still produce a hot baby with a few trips to the gene editing office. In the long term designer babies may emerge as a majority of the population, and maybe women stop AF/BB as their strategy and now start targeting the all-rounder designer babies. Since designer babies have all the basics down, they now compete on the little details, which means women become the pickiest they have ever been. Or maybe the 'perfect' designer babies are seen as boring betas and the 'flawed' normal babies are seen as alpha bad boys.

2. MALE BIRTH CONTROL THAT ALLOWS MEN TO GO RAW

This is technology is already there, and going through human testing in parts of India and the USA. It's called RISUG/Vasalgel and it's basically a gel that you inject into your sperm tubes that stops sperm from entering your ejaculate. The gel can only be dissolved by a certain other chemical which you get injected in the same spot once you're comfortable having kids. It's a set-and-forget technology that lasts 10 years after implementation. Male birth control will reduce fear of conception among men, which has been shown in studies to be their primary concern even above STDs. This ability to have sex with no childbearing repercussions will unleash a wave of unrepentant high SMV men that the world has never seen. This could take away the baby bargaining chip tactic that women use to try and domesticate high SMV men. Unwanted babies may become a negligible statistic leading to better family life, and women may be forced to treat high SMV men exceptionally well to get them to commit, rather than trapping them into commitment.

3. A VACCINE FOR HIV

This is the least probable, but every now and then a headline pops up on some progress that has been made that gives me hope. HIV has been technically cured, since ARVs can now enable you to live to standard life expectancy, but the stigma will still endure until an actual cure has been found. This, combined with number 2 above will mean there are no permanent physical consequences for casual sex, and could change the sexual marketplace in unfathomable ways.
