I've (23M) been solo running TRP journey for a year, and have been steadily improving my work ethic, personal care and getting myself into some hysterically fucked up situations. Usually involving prostitutes.

Getting back into the game really hasn't been on my mind until last week when my HB8.5 roommate(18F) moved in. I wasn't interested until She made some waffles for me and texted me to come talk in her room sometime. So last night I did. I put on some fit, suggestive clothing to tease my hickeys and bulge, plus a dash of cologne. She was wearing a crop top and sweatpants. -_-

I made myself comfortable on her bed while she curled up in a chair, covering her torso with her legs and facing me. She did this funny thing where she would hide her face behind her legs while looking at me over her knees and smiling. (I know because of the eyes)

It proceeded to be a boring conversation filled with mixed messages. At first I thought it was the small talk, but after I tried to break the ice with generic open questions (If she had hobbies, most exciting experience, how much of the city/country she's explored, etc.), it became clear that she either had nothing to talk about or was keeping closed about it. She did occasionally try to interject and share stories but it felt pretty forced.

The few times I felt mutual engagement were mostly in response to me teasing her opinions that were very obviously based in solipsism. (Such as people shouldn't say when they're good at something, that her guy friends should have fought other men who copped a feel at a club, and she was somehow convinced "most people" don't know what equestrian vaulting is?)

As far as body language is concerned it was mixed, but I figure that's because I'm a stranger.

What I learned about her:

  1. The most exciting thing she's ever done is go drinking with friends
  2. She travelled to cities with friends to party
  3. Doesn't want to start a hobby if she isn't good at it

My only possible IOI is: After she gave me the totally subtle exit of "I'm tired and have to get up early tomorrow", I said "uh-huh, gotcha" and made my way out. For my own sanity I decided to establish some escalation so I patted her shoulder as I passed her just saying "thanks". As I was out the door she only then decided to say "bye bye!" very vocally, noticeably higher in pitch and volume than when we were talking. But thats it.

My guess is that she was anxious but above all it still doesn't answer whether she is attracted or not and what she expected when she let me in.

Are my expectations for clarity too high, or am I just being a dick?

I left out a lot of detail because I didn't want this to turn into a bachelor thesis. I'd like to know what your thoughts are on this.
