We all know hygiene is the first "test" you have to pass in order to be successful with women and even otherwise.

You can be dashing and suave but if your teeth are gross and have bad breath you're chances of getting that girl are next to zero.

You can be qualified and knowledgeable but if you reek in your interview chances are you won't get that job.

There are one million resources for women to improve their appearance via make up tutorials, skin care regiments, etc. But almost none for men.

I made this tread to get some less than obvious tips and tricks about how to maximize your appearance and hygiene.

I start with two:

Skin care (face):

I keep it simple and effective. I've visited skincareaddicition and its wayyy to much. They are posting "shelfies" of all their products and its insane.

I did get some good info out of there though so here is my routine.

I do this most every night:

  • Wash hands + clean towel

  • Use a facial cleanser: CeraVe, Spectro, cetaphil, pick any one of these and find one for your skin type (combination skin)

This will wash off all the dirt your face has picked up over the day, help the pH of your skin, and if you scrub for a good 30 seconds will remove vast majority of the dead skin cells sitting on your face.

  • With a cotton pad I use Thayers witch hazel and go over my skin gently. I use Thayers because it contains no alcohol

Witch hazel is an astringent which can help shrink your pores and prevent dirt from entering after you have cleaned them out. Also Witch hazel has anti bacterial and anti fungal properties so it will help prevent over growth of facial bacteria and fungus that effect the natural flora of your face and cause inflammation, redness etc.

  • After its dried (usually under 10mins) I add a SMALL amount of moisturizer with and SPF in it. You're gonna have to find the one that works for you so test a couple but remember if you use a lot its gonna just sit on your skin. You're better off using a little, waiting, and reapplying.

I don't use an exfoliator because, personally, I think they are BS. If you scrub your face well with the cleanser you will remove 99% of dead skin cells anyways (same as how washing your hands does this) and I think they do more harm than good especially around the "harder" areas of your face. Weeks and months of rubbing an abrasive on your face can cause micro abrasions and scarring.

Final note: Diet is the most important thing for your skin, drink lots of water, avoid dairy and sugars, eat good fat like nuts, fish oils, avocado, etc.

Skin care (body):

This is also simple but effective. In fact I've had girls post sex start touching my body because I'm "so soft" then this escalates to full rubbing then eventually a full blown post sex massage.

The trick is Sea salt soap.

I use a sea salt soap in the shower and after rinsing it all off (you need to rinse this well or it might irritate sensitive skin) I use a moisturizing soap usually goats milk or eucalyptus or both.

I've also noticed that after using sea salt soap i hardly smell even after a hard work out an lots of sweating. I swear I don't need to use deodorant any more thanks to the salt soap however I do just in case.

EDIT: Emphasis on LET THAN OBVIOUS tips. Everyone knows, or damn well should know, to shower and brush their teeth. This tread is for the less than obvious stuff.
