I'd call this an oversimplification.

As a general approach I'd say less words when pushing. When putting the pressure on her. When leaving her to prove herself to you.

More words when you're pulling. When you're asserting your frame over the social interaction. When you're making a dominant move without making that dominant move physically.

Push and pull gents. Balance. Use the right tool for the job.

Don't elaborate on thoughts and esp not feelings. Most chicks can't understand if you elaborate on thoughts and it leaves them feeling uncomfortable and frightened. Whereas elaborating on feelings just makes you look weak and/or insecure. If you want examples of the latter, head on over to the SRSMen sub to see exactly how that turns out. (Warning, serious cringefest!)

In addition, elaboration early on is a bad idea. Mystery is your friend. Do things they don't understand and they'll be so curious to figure out what the hell is going on that they'll chase you anywhere. Stay mysterious and let her come to you.

It's not as easy as it looks, so here's the trick that worked for me: Talk slower. If you focus on talking slower, your brain won't just ramble on forever, it'll be forced to summarize more, and it'll have more time to do so than you think.

Good advice. Don't fall into a trap of not speaking at all or not revealing anything interesting about yourself. If the girl knows nothing about you - you're equally doomed.

The solution seems to be generally mysterious and low invested but occasionally break that using elaborate story that indirectly DHV you. Girls love good stories and if you're the hero in your tale - it's a double win.

I've always had this problem. I've loved writing since I was a kid so I kind of grew up writing love letters and shit when I thought that was the thing to do. Even now I like the idea of it in an artistic way or whatever even though I know it's a terrible idea for actually interacting with women.

I made the mistake recently (even after three years of TRP) of writing a drunk and very long and mostly negative Facebook message to a girl I had been on a few dates with. It wasn't BP stuff about us or about her, but sort of general rambling about life and kids and my job so I thought it would be alright. It wasn't. I woke up to see that she had read it and it was very awkward and I never heard from her again.

She knows when you're investing high, even if you don't.

The problem is you are probably being specific, once that happens they get bored. Watch how a good politician or lawyer talks. They always use vague statements that can be interpreted multiple ways.

I talk alot and it works for me. It's what is being said that matters, not how little or much is being said.

Being 'stoic' and 'dark triad' / 'brooding'... nope, that's just too fucking boring. I just do what I do, outgoing, taking risks with what I say, etc, it's all about timing, cues, nuance and reading your audience. You can get away with pretty much anything if you know how to play the crowd and read people.

This sounds like a great personal lesson, but I think you're overgeneralizing. Of course, mystery is attractive and girls will fall for that. But I think the mistake you made was the elaborating on your thoughts. If you don't know each other it usually isn't good tactics to go deep, superficiality is your friend here. Just joke around and talk in breadth. Don't fall in the entertainer guy trap though, she must be sufficiently invested in the conversation to pick it up when it goes stale.

It may not be the amount of words, but rather you're becoming less mysterious by framing your thoughts for people to see. Men can appreciate that and women already invested as long as its sporadically done and not all the time. It can be a strong bonding tool between men when your expanding upon a set of ideologies you both hold, and women find it attractive if you're smarter than them and if they've asked for the input.
