I am an improving beta, and I have come a long way from where I started, but I still have miles to go. However, I would like to share my personal experience relating to video games.

Almost all of my old friends play videogames. They are exactly like I was a year ago. They come home from work, and play for hours on end, eventually falling asleep during the early hours of the morning (3,4, or even 5 am). I remember my days doing this, and they aren't really pleasant memories. I remember being bored as shit, but still playing games like League of Legends for hours, just because that was the only thing I felt there was to do.

It's very different for me now. I have uninstalled LoL, and haven't opened up steam in ages, but I'm not forcing myself to do so. I've found that as I have improved as a person, I have found things that are WAAAAY better time occupiers by far. Once I started lifting weights, socializing, and reading, I slowly became uninterested in the games that I had been playing.

I believe the reason behind this, is that I was using the games to escape an unsatisfactory life. However, as my life has improved dramatically, I find them a huge waste of my time. Instead of staying up grinding until 3am, I go to bed around 10, and get up around 6-7. I feel so much more accomplished when I do things in the morning rather than staying up all night.

So, for all the guys struggling to quit playing video games, don't quit. Just keep playing. Instead, struggle to improve yourself, and you will see how much of a waste of time they are. Also, looking good in the mirror is infinitely more satisfying than leveling up your guy.

TL;DR: Improve your life, and you will not want to escape it anymore.

(Also, I know that everyone is different, but I think that this will apply to a lot of people.)
