I’ve been dating a man for about four weeks now. He seems very polite and is very keen when texting and during dates, and rushes to set them up again as one is ending, but has a habit of asking me mid-day if he can call me that evening and then just not calling. The next morning he says “sorry, I fell asleep!”. I’m starting to get fed up of this behaviour because, even though I’m not sat at my phone waiting for him (tonight I called a girlfriend instead and had a catch up), it irritates me that he makes plans to call and then doesn’t even bother to tell me that he is tired and going to sleep, like a courtesy text. It’s happened maybe four times now since I started dating him.
I mean, the guy is literally going upstairs and getting into bed, right? So why can’t he spare 20 seconds to text and let me know?
At the moment, I plan on texting him tomorrow just to let him know that I’m not buying ‘oh, I fell asleep’ as a reasonable excuse and that I would appreciate it if he could let me know that he felt tired and was going to bed rather than just leaving me hanging all night.
Is it worth mentioning? How would you handle this situation?
