Me: 5 Months since I discovered the pill, 4 since I got serious and joined a gym, 1.5 since I gave up the advice of my trainer and started Stronglift 5x5. Read the sidebar material ravenously but early on, followed by "Iron John", a little epictetus enchiridion, "Thoughts of a Philosophical Fighter Pilot", currently reading "Gates of Fire" by Steven Pressfield. Down from 22% BF the first time I tested to 16.7%; 170lbs at 5'11". Upgraded wardrobe, started a couple of painting projects around the house. Marriage is a mess after I redpill ramboed - but that was after 2.5 years of a no-physical-touch-at-all relationship.

Here's my specific question. I've seen a lot of this behavior lately:

It starts with an annoying shit test. Typically a disrespectful tone complaint.

I try to STFU, but end up either breathing heavily (a "puff") or laugh.

This is entirely an unconscious response, the response to the absurd. It is ... funny.

What I should probably do is STFU and hold frame. Instead, my own unconscious mind is refusing to take her seriously.

Spousal unit then doubles down, deeply offended I don't take her seriously, "this is why people don't tell you things."

It's really bizarre. Complaint was a ~9 on the richter scale of disrespect. The letting out of air, or gentle laughter, is a 2 or 3. Much less disrespectful. But the response of the spousal unit, and daughters, is to then either shout louder or shut down. (It is no agency, no responsibility, everything she does is forgotten when the slightest slight is perceived. So in other words AWALT time.)

I suppose my options are either to learn to STFU/control myself, or else to just deal with the reaction and hold frame. When things escalate because I puffed, I could laugh it off and leave the room. Done well, that could be AA.

This seems unwise, I suspect because part of me is in her frame. That is, I am still afraid of her being mad.

Thoughts?
