I had was in this exact same situation with my girlfriend in highschool and eventually broke things off with her so she could go find someone actually excited to be with her.

This is a passive process that occurs extremely frequently in males. You're emotions are being suppressed.

You are not a "master" of them, you're not a super awesome rationalist or realist or a "natural stoicist".

Your body is not allowing you to experience them because it feels that they would create a dire situation that could result in your death.

Just start small. When you pee, smile a little and think "I like peeing, peeing feels good" and the more you get little feelings like that you'll start having bigger ones.

Society calls this "bottling things up" and encourages men to cry to "let it out" so that it doesn't explode and result in school shootings or something. Which has some truth to it, but it usually results in you throwing your mouse when someone on your team feeds in league of legends.

Try to see if it’s a dopamine issue. If you jerk off/ have a lot of sex it could be that as that fries your dopamine like nothing else. The next thing would be to see if you have any “addictions” to drugs or food... even something as simple as coffee could fuck your dopamine up. Dopamine is what makes us feel good and feeling good will allow you to feel those emotions . However, you never want to be too emotional... it is good that you are a logical thinker, you could be depressed or worn out from something else.

I have similar issues but when I do get emotional I remember I don’t have to deal with this shit. Your stoicism is protecting you from dealing with unnecessary shit.

Personally a few magic mushroom and MDMA sessions with close friends gave me major breakthroughs in being able to identify, understand, and express my emotions. I was honestly a pretty emotionally and socially stunted individual in my early twenties and these compounds helped me develop those skills massively.

Don't take my word for it and do your own research of course, psychedelics aren't for everyone and shouldn't be taken lightly. That said, when used responsibly I think they can be incredibly effective tools for self-development.

Being stoic is feeling emotions but allowing yourself to act rationally regardless. Being apathetic is not feeling emotions at all. Just want to put this important difference out there as some here seem to be confusing the two.

I am in the same boat. Pretty much living in my head, which I want to change.

I listened to some advice online. What helped me a bit, was to allow your negative feelings. Let them feel and accept that they are there and don't try to push them.
Wanted to get rid of them as well, because I was hurt badly (girls storys). Maybe that's the reason for me on why I closed my emotions.

I fully understand this my man. Even before I found trp, I just didn’t really do anything that would be considered normal and affectionate in a relationship.

Finding Trp just made it even harder to show emotions, but girls seem to like it. You sometimes have to remind yourself to show some emotion for the pull portions of the push/pull technique.

In a similar situation. I don’t mind it but it feels so unnatural not feeling anything when e.g. the SO is going through every possible emotion on the board and wondering how you can be so cold and unfaced by everything she’s saying. Honestly it doesn’t feel very normal when you experience a near-death situation and the only reaction you can muster is a ”damn, that’s cool.” and joke about it. Don’t really know if it’s a positive to be so detached from what makes you feel alive. It’s so difficult to express yourself when you don’t even really feel anything and at the same time see every moment as a blessing for being alive, it’s surreal.

Some people are less emotional. I recommend you watch Dr.K interview with Destiny. He kinda has the same ‘problem’ as you. Its really interesting. Its a lengthy interview though so if you don’t have a lot of patience you should skip the first 30 min where they talk about his life and career

My lady describes me being the same way often but not always. I got particularly bad about it when I took 6 months or more off from the gym and sold my race cars. Now that I got my cars and gym back it's no where near as severe- so I'd recommend picking up a hobby or 2.

I was a bipolar gambling addict that did not give a fuck. Red Pill as hell, but dead inside.

Then I discovered Psilocybin (magic mushrooms) a few months back and it shattered my perception. This is pretty normal, especially for teenagers. What I did to counter act was to ask myself how I feel about a certain situation but instead of expressing it irrationally I would just explain calmly.

You will be more in touch with your emotions that way and most likely feel stuff again. Don't listen to these "dopamine" and "nofap" idiots because they don't know what they talking about. I would only go nofap if I did it irresponsibly (e.g when I am sad I immediately go to pornhub)

Just do what I said in the first lines and you will notice a drastic change
