Go figure, maybe it's January syndrome, but I've suspected my ED was PMO related for a while and decided to go straight into hard mode. I'm not sure I'll get any objective answers on nofap so I ask you all. Is there any science behind going "hands off" for 30 or 90 days like they always push? The ache in the balls and general shrinkage indicate to my gut that some every other day release in the shower is biologically ideal until I am in a place to spin plates, but I want to get the full benefit of a brain "reboot" it's real.

For further context, I'm staying off social media for the most part but not religiously. I took one week off and relapsed 2 days and then back off for only 5 days and I already have chronic headaches and increasing insomnia which can't be explained by anything else. Previously, I was an almost-every-day once before bed PMO guy, so I didn't consider it that overwhelming, but I can't deny these strange symptoms. I quit smoking 7 weeks ago and have been lifting and eating well since then. The headaches and insomnia seem to be worse each day since last PMO. I know there's a lot of silliness in that community, but what I'm experiencing in one week is weird and real.
