Read some FRs, do a few exercises. Look at yourself in the mirror and realize how great you are. Say it out loud: "I´m a great dude and gonna have lots of fun going out". Getting girls is not the main goal, just enjoy yourself. That separates you from the crowd.

Have a coffee, chat with some friends, do something to make you feel good about yourself such as going to the gym or getting a new outfit. Overall, I wouldn't focus too much on trying to get yourself into some kind of mood because then you are psyching yourself out.

I used to think about approaching women all the time, but when the opportunities came around I would never actually do it. Then I would beat myself up about it, and it became a vicious cycle. My inner game was the problem, so I put all thoughts of approaching out of my mind. I told myself I would approach when I worked on my insecurities and was at a place where I was truly confident. It's tough because your young male body is wired to think about women. Your body has one goal: to reproduce. I learned to turn my hunger for women into a drive for success. I got better at music (which was something that I was insecure about), got in better shape (another insecurity at the time), and worked on a plan for the future. Once I was confident in those areas the first approaches I made were really easy, the anxiety and fear were nearly evaporated (it was still a bit intimidating, but I was better equipped to handle it). I found myself enjoying the experience and the challenge, where before I was paralyzed by my own inadequacies. If you're having trouble getting into the mentality where you want to approach women, you may have some inner game work to do. TLDR: If you can't get yourself to approach, forget about it and work on inner game.

Maybe not time for is this time. But when I'm doing things I'm afraid of or acomplish things I usually feel good about myself and have easier to get in the "best-self" mode.

go shopping! i love to treat myself with a new shirt or a nice pair of sneakers before a big party night. you get this extra boost of confidence when you wear a new piece you like. but even better, shopping is the perfect opportunity to talk to random girls just for the sake of it. this can end in wonderful situations or at least it helps you to get into a good social mood.

A few drinks was all I ever needed. Then just go with the flow. If its good, its good, and you're at the right party. If when you get a few drinks in, you don't feel it, then maybe you aren't at the right party.

I do power poses and also like working out sometime before going out(Get those good endorphins and testosterone pumping!). Listening to tunes that get you in a good mood helps big. Also I'm big on warming up my social skills before hitting the main event. Meaning I will stop and talk to random people on the way to the venue to put me in the right frame of mind to be meeting people.

Your absolute best? That kind of thing HAS to happen naturally in my opinion. Forcing yourself to be your best self can work, but it can feel just that, forced. However, I'd say you can easily be your better self with a few tricks. I'd recommend a work out or good gym session a while before this party, that way you've got a pump going, you look good, feel good. As someone else mentioned, you can talk yourself up in your head. "I'm gonna have a killer time at this party, I'm gonna look good, I'm gonna feel good, I'm gonna have fun" anything like that will work.

Find whatever interests you and let your freak flag fly. Treat other people how you would want them to treat you. Make other people feel important and genuinely listen to them. Be generous with your time and with your money. Talk to others about what is interesting to them, not what is interesting to you. Weave your knowledge and interests into the conversation in ways that would interest them. Know when to keep your mouth shut and deliver up the real you, not come fake construct that you invented.

Top all of that with exactly one shot of your preferred liquor, and you are set. All of this can be done in literally fifteen minutes and will instantly put you in your best state.
