You can always joke around with your job. Just think of something funny for it and say it non chalantly like it doesn’t bother you. If it bothers you it bothers them.

If you are an electrician you have nothing to be ashamed of. If any of them put you down for it just shrug it off and move on. Be confident. And I know several electricians who make damn good money.

Blue collar guys are the best! Not every woman prefers clean cut, suited up, white collar men.

Men who do physical work are usually fitter and stronger. There’s just something very erotic about a man who works with his hands. Blue collar men also tend to be more dominant, which I like.

Be proud of your profession and your work! Do you really want women who won’t accept you in full?

yea mostly the question is designed to get the man talking about themselves - not the job - being too literal is a great way for a woman to lose imagination. ask her a question in return "look at me - care to take a guess?"

Find an interesting way t describe what you do. “I’m an electrician. I make buildings have light. I’m the one who you can thank for having good wifi. I build the shit that lets you charge your phone at night.”

Or, find a funny way to describe what you do. “I basically crawl around like a mouse squeezing through corners in order to connect your wifi.” That’s maybe a bad example but you get the gist.

I’m a land surveyor and I tell people that it’s basically the job Indiana jones would do if instead of being a college professor, he was a college dropout.

Edit: if you fix, not build, same thing but with "i fix things" instead of "build real shit" - sounds vague at first but then gives them more questions in a not so bad way so that they are also engaged in the convo instead of just hearing you talk. This was my go-to back in the day when i used to have even the most mundane manual labor job and it didn't go over too badly, if i do say so myself.

I am also an electrician (though minimally in the field). I have 3 degrees (BS, MS, MBA) from Tier 1 institutions. I never field inferior to ANYONE. If someone looked at me poorly for my trade, I’d immediately recognize them as an idiot.

Edit: If I had 0 formal education, I still wouldn’t give a hoot what someone else thought. My point is that you should be proud of your trade, and if someone doesn’t value the service you provide, they obviously don’t understand how the world works. Plus I charge $135/hr for my guys so I know you make good money. But these girls obviously don’t need to know that.

It sounds more like you're not comfortable with what you do and it's possible that is what turns the girl off. My advice would be to be honest and own what you do, some girls will like it, some won't.

When they ask what you do for a living, telling them “I’m this.” is the “logical” answer. It’s technically the answer to their question but girls communicate differently. That’s why they get bored when they heard those answers.

You either need to jokingly lie or be vague in a funny way. Being too mysterious can be weird though. Just remember that strangers don’t actually need to know what you do until they invest in you more.

Don’t give literal answers and learn to communicate with emotion.
