Had a first date with someone I was really digging. She’s totally my type.

We had a long conversation, 3-4 hours at a bar….

When we parted ways there was a quick peck on the lips. She said I was sweet and she had a great conversation. After that I pretty much knew it was over. I messaged her yesterday and said I had a good time getting to know her. No reply. Before she couldn’t wait to text me and was responding quickly to my messages (I tried to keep it mostly off text). Going by text and bumble messages she seemed pretty into me before the first date.

I’m thinking that I’m very good at building up trust and comfort, but terrible at other stuff. I can be vulnerable, and I’m comfortable with my emotions, but I feel like I let too much of my vulnerable side out. Often times it’s in response to her own vulnerability- I’m not being vulnerable without any calibration.

We talked a lot about life, some childhood stuff, trauma, what we enjoy, world views, emotions, that kind of stuff.

Im a “deep” guy and I’m thoughtful but I think I’m shooting myself in the foot.

I’m a great conversationalist but this is a pattern for me. Women on these first dates, especially ones I’m fond for, don’t seem to like me.

How can I make sure this stops happening?
