This may sound like a weird thing but woukd it be a good idea to make a new tinder, set it to dudes only, and look and see some of the good pictures some of the other guys have posted to get ideas? I'm trying to think of some but I'm drawing a blank

It would be a better use of your time to read some of the articles on the internet about studies that show what works on dating apps. For guys, you should have pics of you laughing or smiling so it's obvious you're having a good time, and then something with an animal, but NOT a fucking fish. The articles have better info than me, but those are some examples.

Hell yeah! How many times have you heard women say they like men in uniform?

Think you've got a whole load of potential there!
photofeeler.com/ has a blog, you can also consider getting your pictures rated there (it helped me quite a lot)

Do you have any links to these articles?

Pretty easy to Google, super tired at the moment but if I remember tomorrow I'll find something for you
[–]Thierr 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
There are a few facebook groups for that, where guys share their profile and get feedback. I like school of tinder

Before I tried OLD I would've laughed and said that's an insane level of effort...but actually yeah I think that's necessary, because I NEVER seem to be in any photos at social events and I don't want to be the guy to stop the show and try to take 100 photos
Right? I’ve been trying to get more good photos of myself while doing interesting things, and even just asking for someone to take a simple photo makes me feel like an asshole.
Asking someone to take several photos and critiquing the camerawork sounds unpleasant. But it’s necessary to take photos if you wanna be good at taking photos.

I've realised that female friends often have photo shoots like before they go out when they're looking prettied up they'll spend about 15 minutes taking photos
I hate it, and hate what social media has done to society, but it's necessary if you want to succeed with online dating.

Eh tall and fit are important but a good looking face can carry you harder.

My "mates" at work are 30-plus suburban dads or husbands. I am planning on moving into the city where the trendy neighborhoods are, and thus younger women (I'm 25 but look 2-3 years younger). Now I'll be within 5 minutes walking distance of 3 bars.

Your pictures suck. Not that youre not photogenic.
You feel lonely because you put no effort in improving your dating life.
Setting up a tinder profile and swiping is not effort.
[–]mightymite88 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's true. Do in person approaches instead

Don't focus on OLD. Learn street game, day game, basically chatting to people on the street/shop/library/gym etc. Also, you need to build a social life that is maybe not about sitting at home playing video games or painting models. You need other things that get you out. Or maybe join a power lifting club instead of just going to the gym on your own. Or got to a CrossFit gym (I know, different, but you could do that for a class a week). CrossFit boxes are super social places! With a more out-of-the-house life you meet more people and of course also women.
OLD is super bad for mental health. It looks easy and so available, but you need to have excellent pics and excellent chatting skills. And there is so many flakes and false people on there...
Learn day game and use it for the rest of your life.

Daygame is king.

SOME effort is better than NO EFFORT.
You're straight up being defeated at the starting point, it's like saying you want to lift 200 lbs but because you can't, you won't even start. You gotta build up first, you can't jump to your goal in your first try.
~
Initially I started with photos I pulled from Facebook and other friends, but then I used a tripod and took photos, until I got several good ones, eventually I replaced even those with better photos. It wasn't overnight (though it is possible to do it in one night if you have the right planning).

first of all stop with the mirror selfies and get some photos taken of you by a photographer or even have a friend take some nice photos of you with you wearing some nice clothes.
[–]mrhaftbar 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Just get a friend who is into photography to take some pictures. I recently took pictures of a friend for his OLD profiles. I really enjoyed the session, as it gave me the opportunity to try things out and having a model for free is always nice.

There are a lot of good comments here.
Can I just add there are apps out there which rate your photo so, even if you hate the photo or feel you look dorky in them (dorky is sometimes good), you can get an unbiased opinion.

Hire a tinder photographer dude. Or just a photographer.
[–]WhiteningMcClean 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I’m in the same boat, and I just took a couple “selfies” using a timer and a bar stool. It felt a little sad but it got me the results I wanted.

What type of girl are you looking for? Does she have to be photogenic?
But like others say… tall and fit makes everything easier. Many athletes get great girls for just those two things. They can be dead boring and ugly.
Girls want people that are motivated and confident. Show that you are putting effort into your life.
Girls generally avoid people without confidence and those that are lazy.
Focus on your strengths and not your weaknesses. With confidence in your strengths nobody will really care about if you have hobbies that they are not interested in.
Tips:
Have someone take your photo for you. Be comfortable being uncomfortable. Make sure they show how tall you are. If you can’t ask someone, hire someone. This step is #1, #2 and #3 because it means you are going out of your comfort zone. All hot chicks live outside your comfort zone. There are literally no hot chick inside the comfort zone.
Make sure you have good posture in the photos, being tall but with bad posture can look terrible and insecure.
Become ambitious about something and share your ambition, even if it is a niche… people are drawn to ambition. If you talk about the model painting, dont talk about anything technical. Talk about why you want to be good at it and how it makes you feel. Talking about feelings makes everything relatable.
Don’t focus on your weaknesses or even your strengths when you talk to ladies. People love talking about themselves, so focus on the girl and what she is interested in. Ask questions and be genuinely interested in learning more about her. The more you talk about her the better.

Go on Instagram, find a photographer that has a lot of good looking pics of people they're advertising, and shoot them a DM. Hire them for a couple hours and take their advice
[–]Captain_brownbeard 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Helping a tall dude doesn't serve my interest because you literally get it easy in the dating game that if you are 6'2 and above then all you need to do is put that. But DM and I'll fix your profile for you. Plus I'll show you how to get pics alone
[–]Different_Turnover60 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Nightmare mode? I’m short, balding, speech impediment plus ugly.
Instagram game is way better than dating apps. You can show your personality and game models. Win win.
Instagram? Really? I dont even have one lol
