Openers seem to work because if you speak with the knowledge it’s going to work, you are confident and comfortable. It’s not actually the opener that works, it’s speaking with confidence and being ready for full conversation

Everything matters. I prefer the first openers because they seem more real. The opinion opener seems gimmicky and very "pick up artisty"

You need to open in a way that gets her out of her head and into the moment with you so make it intriguing and be able to carry the conversation initially.

More importantly, control your physiological state. Women feel the same feelings you feel inside of you. If you're uncomfortable, you'll make them uncomfortable.

Yeah they do, but what you’re backing it with matters more. Better to have your intangibles on-point and deliver a “boring” opener than a cheesy one though.

The actual words don’t matter all that much, it’s your tonality, body language, confidence, and whether she finds you attractive or not. I’ve said so many different stupid things that ended up working for me in the past. Hell depending on the setting/venue you sometimes don’t need to say anything at all

Opener matters but if your " normal " in that environment ( which usually means above average in looks compared to other guys there. Top 40 % maybe ? Or assumed normal but virtue of you being there in the first place like a paid event or high end club. ) then you can say normal things to start a conversation . What you gave was an example of being normal.

If you're not considered normal ,then each sentence will carry you to getting more and more seconds to prove yourself

Mystery opener feels very gamey and girls will sense that. Especially with an inflammatory question like men or women lying more. You don't actually give a shit about the answer you're just using some canned question to talk to a person. It's weird.

More often than not I just step in front and wave to get their attention, make eye contact and then say hello or compliment something about their outfit that I like. It's important to make sure they're looking at you when you say something or they might not know you're talking to them, so don't skip the nonverbal attention getting bit

Fun fact, you actually decide whether you're attracted to someone within the first few seconds, we humans naturally profile other humans, we can tell so many things when we first meet, race, age, accent, educational background, personality types and so much information. Openers don't really matter as much as the middle stage, there is nothing canned that will always work, so you have to improvise

The reason why there are bullshit questions “real quick… who lies more?” Or “Who does it better…?” Because not only they serve as an opener, but an escalation and a qualifier. It’s like killing 2-3 birds with 1 stone.

You make her invest in you or in the conversation by having her talk more. How many posts have we seen in this sub where guys ask “what’s the best opener” but also “what do I need to talk about after the opener”? That would’ve solved that.

You can just talk and run back and forth circling that question for 5-10 mins before you close her. Don’t have to bring up any other crappy topics or memorize them like you’re in school.

Of course it doesn’t have to be those questions, but you get the point.
