I find myself thinking too much and end up not hearing what the other person is saying. Doesn't work for me.

When I first getting comfortable with myself and learning how to make eye, I used to stare at their lips/nose. I would look at their lips because I felt like I would stare in a creepy way into her eyes. It worked for me because it appeared that I was making eye contact (practiced on female friends who confirmed this for me when I was starting out). After doing that for a while, I relaxed enough to actually look girls in the eye when I talk to them.

Now, I do ask myself questions like yours, except for their shape, how far apart her eyes are, and how big the white part of their eyes is. But, I think I'll start incorporating that, eyes come in so many different shapes and types, that it'd be nice to really notice this on girls I'm talking with.

One trick is to just focus on one eye, their right eye (their left), this is their emotional side so focusing on that eye and not the other is better. But the reason you look at one eye is because it looks like your looking at both and also so you're not bouncing all over the place, it keeps you steady and focused.

Further only break when they break first, shows confidence. Make sure to break though because if u just continue to stare you look like a creep

Eye contact is the key to a lot of your issues connecting and talking with people. It isn't a cure all, but it has proven time and time again to push my social skills to the next level.

Focus on the conversation. If you find the topic at hand not interesting (I find this the case sometimes) then I focus on the eyes.

I know its very brief. But when i make i contact I usually chose #1. I look at the color of their eyes and in my head i try to name that color. Its usually back and forth when i do it. I feel it works.

I'm not very confident myself but I like to think I'm the best whenever I'm socializing. So whenever I'm talking to any person, often a girl, I'll stare them directly in the eye and don't look away until they do. I want to be the one who "wins" the competition and be like "ye that's right, look away" Although my intentions are not to be an asshole or actually think that I'm any better than them, I find it funny and I helped me alot. Now I automatically stare them in the eye while talking. It's fun.

You forgot one interesting and important eye feature, the limbal ring, it shows youthfulness. Your list is more like an ophthalmic examination than an eye contact hack. Can't see the point myself.

Funnily holding eye contact is the only part of gaming I can do. Everything else just seems so complicate and out of reach, but looking in eyes I find as straight forward and effortless as it gets.

What about doing this with random people you see throughout the day on the bus, etc. I just find it weird to stare at someone in the eye on the bus. Do you just maintain the eye contact with an expressionless face, smile, or what?
