I guess I did it.
After coming out of a 3 year relationship and not knowing what to do and how to interact with strangers, I thought I should just give it a go.

I've been reading the The 4 Hour Workweek by Tim Ferris. The second challenge in the book is to go out and ask attractive strangers of the opposite sex for their telephone number. If the person was not interested I should ask for a fake number.

Living in a country where people are more reserved I thought I would get rejected completely and I was okay with that because this subreddit taught me rejections are part of the game.

In my favorite book store I saw this beautiful girl. At first I was to afraid to go over to her. A minute later she went somewhere else and I thought I completely messed up, because I was expecting her to leave. I went around the shop to find someone else to talk to. Suddenly I saw her again and knew this time I would force myself not to fuck up.

I went over and told her she looked cute and spontaneous and I wondered if she was willing to type her number into my phone. She reacted very shy and told me that this never happened to her before. She then told me to give her my number so she could think about it and text me if she was interested. I typed in my number into her phone, but also insisted that she at least should give me a fake number (so I wouldn't fail the challenge). She agreed.

After thanking her and saying goodbye she turned around and said: 'It isn't a fake number.'
