This is obvious. Good conversation skills are a necessary skill to get to a high level of game. Not sure who is upvoting this, but I do appreciate the links, but could live without the condescension.

You clearly did not spend any time reading the sidebar. I would wager you got your concepts of what pickup is from either reading The Game or watching The Pickup Artist.

NO NO NO This is completely false! I've been an excellent conversationalist in business, networking, and socializing in general for the past 10 years. It has not gotten me girls. My success over the past three months has definitely stemmed from my core, which means I use my conversation skills in pickup, but I've had to actively change the nature of my conversation when it comes to game. This post is extremely misleading, especially since it doesn't even talk about the physical aspect of pickup (kino, body language, etc.), which is >50% of how to interact with and attract women.

Nope. Way to stick to the formula though.

Step 1. State the obvious as an easy way out. "Be a conversationalist".

Step 2. Differentiate your proposal as something new by acting as if it's different/better than everything else similar. "This isn't routines, story telling, DHVs, or weird social proof stuff."

Step 3. Write a wall of text about how X is great, while side-stepping any problems in your theory. Things like:

Game already includes conversation. FOAQRSC from 2003 onwards and on which M3 and most other models are based include something like 5-10 minutes of attraction and six fucking hours of conversation and building emotional connections.
Game was built on codifying and emulating and improving upon the patterns that conversationalists use. Routines and DHVs ARE conversation.

"Herp derp derp, but then doing it naturally is better." Herp derp, the people who are doing this don't have those natural skills, and learn them in the moment - the moment that they come across whilst in set and have nothing to say; hence the advice "If you have nothing to say then say anything."

No. If you've ever met an actor or actress, you'll often find they're either shit boring because they aren't reading from an amazing canned script, or they've repeated what they have said to you a million times to other people and have unconsciously canned it.

Canning something makes no fucking difference. Saying something stupid or in a stupid way can make a difference whether it's canned or in the moment.

Conversation doesn't get you laid. How did you miss this being a classic friend zone mistake? Knowing your game plan, escalating, and having your logistics sorted out - while providing comfort and attraction - gets you laid. That's what the game is out. Talk all the fuck you want, the chick isn't going to start grinding on your dick until you use game to provide the rest of the pieces.

Most pick up material post mystery method isn't so much about doing routines, in fact most of the pick-up stuff I read is about becoming a natural rather than learning new techniques. But I will agree if you're doing 95% of the talking and your pick up is basically you doing a stand up comedy routine infront of a girl, you need a change of pace. I will watch the videos though, thanks for posting.

Anyone else find it really painful watching these guys talk to girls? I literally covered my face with both hands watching Alex (first link) talk to these 2 chicks in the Bahamas.

I'm not saying I'm so great, but God damn. It's not even always what he's saying, there's just something about the situation that makes even me very uncomfortable. And I'm not a girl nor am I even there.

Also, a bit of Googling revealed that Dr. Tiy-e is not a doctor and has never graduated college. He was also fired from a professorship for falsifying his credentials. The guy does make good points though.

You are just stating one obvious fact, of course you will need to talk with you target of seduction, starring wont do the trick (usually..).

You make it sound like a Pickup Line is one sentence that's either going to get you laid immediately or not at all, when actually it's just what you could use to approach someone, making it obvious, from the very first words you say that you are interested and either get blown off or into a conversation which I think is great because first of all you wont waste any time on someone who's absolutely not interested, pathetically trying to make him/her interested in your great way of communicating, and secondly if he/she stays with you, you know you'll have a shot if you play it right.

Though you are right about having to be able to talk, you seem to have got something wrong there, you don't just try to make him/her tell you personal things, there's just so much more to being charming, and in addition this is where you contradict yourself because this might be considered just as much of a 'Pickup recipe' as everything you claim to be crap..

You are saying that someone should not follow some routines, but at the same time you are telling people to start talking to other people and learn, learning from experience, sure, but what you actually do when you learn from experience is you pick the routines and the content that worked out great before to improve your whole game by doing so..

The only thing to agree on in your post is that someone should get comfortable talking to the other gender. But it doesn't hurt to have some ideas/concepts/routines in the back of your head in case you get stuck, you don't have to fail hard the first couple of times to be able to learn, you'll improve your way, no matter what you use to help yourself, as long as you try.

PS. The line "I think you're really hot" got me laid way to often to be able to take your post serious (though I never used it to start a conversation..)..

Not sure whether to upvote for a decent post that links to supporting material that could help people or downvote for the silly idea that you can simply ignore all PUA material and use only conversation to build attraction. It completely ignores presentation and physical communication.

Conversation is extremely important both in pick up and life in general, however there is more to pickup than conversation. For example, communicating interest from across the room with body language and eye contact.

It's a much more valuable skill to learn than useless try-hard Pick Up that fails, wastes your time, and doesn't benefit your entire life.

Pickup lines are useful for the first week you go out but should then be binned. However, a lot of pickup does teach you valuable skills, learning to read and control your own body language, kino and teaching you to respect yourself are all valuable and will last you a lifetime.

You cannot compare a scripted fim scene with an oscar winning actor to a real life interaction.
