Text game is mostly logistics. Remember how most fuckboys will literally just text "u up?" at 3am ? The in person interaction just has to be solid. Then you have to be casual and not needy over text. Now you good.

Hey man, still figuring this one out myself, but one thing I think made me a little better was reading a book called Magnetic Messaging. It breaks it down into a simple 3 step process that consists of:

Sparking an emotion(usually a funny message)
Creating a connection(relating to the girl on some common ground)
Handle logistics (this is where you propose the date/hangout time/place)

I would read the book, it’s pretty sweet and simple, but that’s the gist of it. You should be able to pull this off in 3-4 texts.

I have some of your issue. I think that the most important things, while texting, is to be funny, smart and (also auto-)ironic. I know it's not ever possible, but just try. I'm not one of these PUA, or something like that, but just a simple guy like you, so i can give you a "to do list". I also try to improve my texting game in the last few mounth, and i have expirenced that, as you mantioned, girls have generally way way more boys who text them than a guy have girls. For these reason girls are more skilled in texting game. On the other hand, the most of the guys have issue with text not only you, or me, so you have only to take little advantages over the others. Say somthing funny, make her laugh truly (not the "ahahah" kind of laugh), if you have already met that girl make some jokes about that meeting, or if you have some sort of previous jokes in the chat use some link to that. Be brave and show no fear to express yourself also through text game...

Try a bunch of silly stuff and push the limits. If you fail miserably learn from it. When you succeed learn from it. Don't worry about the outcome, just enjoy the process. You are 19 and there are a whole lot of fish in that sea.

You seem pretty hung up on having to wine and dine over text.

It's a lot more work and there's a lot more of a chance that you get thrown into orbit. But something that's worked for me is "setting hooks".

Basically you want to create genuine emotional stimulation through your conversation, turn them into inside jokes of sorts, and use that as a way of making them feel closer to you.

Here's an example:

You get onto the topic of sports, maybe they have a favourite team, maybe they play and think that they're good. You playfully challenge, and boom. Emotionally invested. Now, whenever they reference being good, or having a favourite anything, you bring it back to the sports challenge. You've just strengthened that emotional pull, and brought it into this one.

There's a compounding effect to this, and the more types of situations you can set a hook into, the more they're going to be investing in you.

You should focus on making your life as great as possible. That involves asking girls out. But if you're working on making your life great, you're not gonna have time to worry about exactly how to phrase your texts to a girl. And it makes you more attractive that your focus is on something else.

Just be straight up. And again, the focus is on living your life the way you want, not "how the fuck do I get this girl to say yes."

Dude I’m 19 also, sometimes look up how my mates texting game looks and I guarantee you that other guys texting game is not as good as you think. They generally being too needy (respond within a minute even if she is responding in like 15 or so, even if she is available) and make conversation like an interview. You say u are good at pickup in real life, I’m glad to hear that but I’m pretty sure You did by practice. The same rule applies to the texting game. You have to practice a lot not only with the girls u meet in real life but with the ones u meet online that live far away from you so you can just practice on them, that’s what I was doing when I couldn’t get out from home too much and texting with those girls improved my texting game so much.

Play to your strengths man, if you suck at texting don’t force yourself to do it.

Some guys have good text game and it works for them. But it’s not a necessity. Set up a date, tell her you’re a busy guy and then use text as little as possible.

Laws of Text Game

Only text for logistics. Don't make jokes, don't tease her, dont do anything that a robot wouldn't do. Jokes or teasing over text will come off differently than you intended every time. Do all the fun stuff in-person
Open a conversation with a simple question before transitioning to logistics. It's lighter and easier to respond to. "Hey, how was your weekend?", "Yo, how was work?", "Hey, how's it going?" are all good. She can answer the question, then you plan a date. No bullshit inbetween. That's all the non-logistics you should text
Always try to respond the same length of time after she does, and with fewer words. If she takes 20 minutes, you take 25. If she sends short replies, do the same. Never write paragraphs of text or reply instantly. They come across needy. Even if she texts back hours later, wait an hour or so before replying.
Don't ask, tell. This rule should be followed outside of texting anyway, but in text it's doubly important. When you're planning the date, give her a time and place, don't ask her. You'll still get the same result, you just come across more assertive. And if she wants to go out but genuinely can't, she'll suggest a better time anyway. If she doesn't, tell her a couple days you'd be free on, then let her choose between them.
Don't initiate text unless it's to schedule a date or it's something urgent (she left her purse at your place or something). Only text the day before you'd have the date be set, then an hour or so before the date, just if you want to confirm. No small talk over text.

And as an example, my texts almost always look like this:

Me: hey it's ManBeast, how was your weekend?

Her: Hey! it was good

Me: that's good. what are you doing tomorrow?

Her: Work/School/Not much

Me: well let's grab food/drinks/coffee at [place] at [time] and chat

Her: Sounds good

That's it. That's all I'll text. If she can't meet up the next day, I'll suggest another time. If not, I'll wait several days and try again.

Don’t text them besides to confirm location and time. You shouldn’t be getting to know people over text that’s what the date is for.
