Not sure if infinite patience is the right thing to preach. My thinking is that if she is 3 days late responding (or something like that) one time, she gets a pass. It could be a one off. If it happens again, two strikes and she's out. Life is short, no need to waste your time on someone who isn't interested enough in you to take one minute to send a text.

I never send a second text, but if it takes her 3 days to send a reply, I'd assume she just doesn't want anything and is just stringing me along. She doesn't need to give me an answer, but everyone has at least 10 seconds in their day when they can say "hey, I'm busy, I'll text you later" or something along those lines. I just think it's disrespectful that if you care at least a tiny bit for someone, you ignore them for 3 days

Yeah, usually panicking like a chump for no good reason is a sign you're a little bananas (or at least they may perceive you as such). Play it cool and things work out nicely and more sanely.

That being said -- if she's the type that often stands you up or isn't serious about plans -- unless you like that sorta thing -- it's usually good to just move on in a conflict-free, drama-free way.

As in, stop contacting her and live your life.

Women change their mind a LOT. She may have thought she wasn't that into OP for those 3 days and then today decided she is after all. "isn't interested enough" isn't necessarily set in stone. OP's "I almost sent a second text but decided to chill and talk to other chicks to distract myself" is near-optimal strategy imo...

Life's to short and because of that it's matters the most. Yeah, you should be kind to people etc. but you're the ultimate hero of your own story about you're writing book.
