I'm actually writing my senior thesis on masturbation, social networking, and their participation in the decline of social intimacy. Good luck, bro. I'm fucking hating my life writing this thing.

If I can give you some tips...

It took me a bunch of pilot studies before I had any sort of reliability and face validity in my questions. There is a lot that goes into making a survey, small things like not being able to ask questions about age or gender in the beginning of a survey as it kicks in thoughts of societal expectations and can negatively affect your results, or not being able to skip from I to me during a questionnaire as to not confuse the reader, and so on.

I'm rambling, I should be writing this thesis, but good luck. I'd read it. Make sure it gets approved through IRB, because if it doesn't, it's basically worthless in the scientific community as the test basically has no structure, and we don't know if the test itself could have been skewed and negatively affected your results. You also need a good sample size, so if it's correlational (meaning you have no control group to test against), you're going to want 100+ participants to get things going. I have 50 questions, 200 participants, and that's probably still not enough. Anyway, you need some sort of backing for this stuff. Talk to your professors, see if you can try to put it together with you and make it happen. If you can, and they want to work on it with you, you might be able to get published and that'll pave your future to grad school.

Yes different stages. I know it will be easiest on the middle phase. Online dating may be the best tool for this (I won't hurt feelings of people I know and will involve just a texting relationship)

First texting you need to establish self worth early. I.e. At the bar make sure you DHV a shit ton.

Some people get hung up on getting a number. A female may ignore texts or delay responses or only respond in a few words. I am interested in decreasing delay, increase texts, and increase response length.

Different stages would involve looking at involving quitting responding all together. Like ending a relationship and try to re establish the relationship after.

Good questions. I wonder if people would be willing to donate data to this "study" via screenshots etc...

I made a small personal study on the comments people will make when texting, which combines the immediacy of conversation with the physical separation of a letter, is available...it was from 2003 so it's a very early example of how relationships can develop, mature and collapse when conducted with text as a tool.
