I, a 23 yo, went on a date for the first time in my life. Not just a date too, but a date with the cutest girl I've met in my life and someone i've had a huge crush on since the moment i met her. And i wanted to thank this community for this.

  1. Thank you to every post that kept reminding me not to be a needy soul sucking emotional leech.

  2. Thank you to every single comment who kept reinforcing the mindset that i should always be out there looking for more options, instead of getting oneitis.

  3. Thank you for teaching me to risk it and make a move or else I'm gonna get friendzoned anyways. I never would've had the spine to leave my safe space otherwise.

  4. Thank you to every comment reminding me that I'm the one choosing, that I should be wondering whether she is fun rather than obsess about if she'll like me.

  5. Thank you to every person reminding me that it's ok for me to be attracted to women and instead of being scared of looking creepy, i should focus on being honest about my intentions.

  6. A special Thank you to mark manson for writing models, one of the best books that taught me to not be a needy nice guy without being a woman hating incel, along with all these other ideas.

  7. But the biggest thanks goes to the guy who posted about his dad being a legend and the truly legendary advice he gave- FOCUS ON YOUR FUN. Just prioritising my happiness made ALL the difference for me. Instead of feeling bad about the girl who rejected me i was already looking for the next person for who would actually be fun to interact with.

Doing things for me and for having fun pushed away all the boring people and attracted all the people that i get along with better. But the best part was that i don't regret it at all. Whatever i lose with this mindset, would've decreased my happiness anyways.

  1. Of course I've done my part too. Lost 33 pounds in the last 6 months. Dress in a way that i actually feel really good about. Stopped my extreme use of porn which immediately started making me feel better. Learnt and figured out stuff for myself like how insanely important the ending of a conversation is. Kept pushing myself to focus more on self improvement and less on time-wastes like youtube or random reddit.

And even now, i forcibly keep myself unattached. That tomorrow things may not work out and that's fine and I'll just find someone else. People may come and go but this mindset has gotta stay forever.

But going from being an autist who always watched his crush from afar not even knowing he existed to an internet troll hiding in his cave feeling powerless about life passing him by, to finally feeling like a fucking chad sitting next to an insanely drop dead gorgeous girl. Life has never felt this way and i wanted to thank all of you for this.
