Good points. I needed this right now. Some think reading a ton will make you an expert at this, when really you get overwhelmed with too much information if you don't spend more time applying it all. We could argue all day over, say, texting vs. calling. but are those arguments helping us get better with women? Not really.

Just go out and do something with your life instead of reading dozens of books and theories, which - let's be honest - are worthless most of the time.

Mark Manson hits on this in Models (and yes he acknowledges the irony). He says: take two guys. One reads theory all the time and goes out when he can. The other never or rarely reads and goes out all the time. Who gets better results? Likely the second guy. Because he learns through experience.

At the end of the day, experience trumps knowledge. And there is no perfect way to do things. Do what works for YOU.

Research is the first step to acquiring a new skill (unless you have some seduction mentor to teach you). You need to have some foundation if this stuff doesn't come naturally. Obviously practice is more important in the long run, but it doesn't hurt to start here.

Also, most of the shit you read is either wrong or doesn't apply to you. Seduction is a new field, and there is a lot of wrong shit out there that needs to be cleared out as people learn more. The only way to really learn is to learn yourself.

As a woman, I agree with you. A lot of these threads seem to me to be a bunch of guys overthinking stuff. Even the guys who close seem to not understand why. Stop overthinking. Yes, go out and practice. Find your own style. Pull from here and there and make your own way of doing things. Women seriously get tired of being approached by the same guy in a different body over and over again. Bored women don't let you close. Be yourself. If you're interested, act interested. We LIKE that. If you are only interested in sleeping with her and moving on to the next conquest, don't be too interested. And honestly, there are a lot of women out there who will sleep with a guy who doesn't play the game BECAUSE he's straight forward. "I just want sex, I don't want to love you or you to love me. We can chill sometimes. But all I want is sex." THAT actually does work.

Just because you practice pick up doesn't mean you'll get consistent results. Take it from a guy like me whose already done several approaches. When you're hitting that road block of not getting a consistent response rate or consistent dates and you want to advance to the next level but don't know how, this subreddit can be a good resource of information to let you know what you could be doing differently.
