Hell, even with a prenup, you aren't necessarily protected. Prenups don't do much for first marriages, where the wealth and asset generation is done during the marriage. It also does nothing to protect against child support. And.....they can be litigated, successfully in longer divorces.

Prenups by themselves do not override state law where contested divorces have assets split 50:50. It took me a whole year to research complicated options like 'legal separation a day after marriage', trusts, gifts to relatives etc. which seem to be the only way to retain your assets after marriage. Lawyers will NEVER reveal any of these options, this is a huge loss of business for them and most are simply ignorant about asset protection.

A lot of the simps you mention get married because they have no clue on how bad things can get in a marriage and how much toll the court process in divorce can extract on your life. They very much believe that if things don't work out, they can simply sit down and agree to a separation
