I think you are specifically correct. The best kind of correct.

High value degrees require professors with high value skills (who are expensive) and often require expensive related resources (labs, computers, etc.). Low value degrees are extremely cheap to provide. Schools really like people that take low value degrees: they are cheap and put a lot of butts in seats.

For the most part, men can’t pursue low value degrees without feeling the heat of society’s fury.

I knew a guy that left his programming job to be a park ranger. Rangers get paid hilariously little. He did it for his mental health, I get that now. You should have heard the way his “girlfriend” talked about him, it was a shit show. She had already moved on, and was telling absolutely anyone that held still to listen.

There is no sexual market for men with secondary/tertiary incomes. Doesn’t matter what else men offer (keep a good house, good with kids, focus on charity, whatever). Guys that don’t give in to the pressure to earn are scraped to the side of the plate and ignored.

Education is free, even the kind that pays well. You just have to be good at self-teaching, studying, and exam preparation, as well as self-promotion, resume writig, job interviews, office politics, and just showing up and doing your job.

There are study guides for accreditation programs on pirate bay. CFA doesn't require college, just the exams and work experience. Actuary certification requires a handful of very specific classes but no degree. Those are professional white collar careers with six figure salary base pay at entrance level,with no degree required. But you got to self teach a lot.

Plumbers and electricians are in high demand too, and those tend to have apprenticeship programs that pay you to learn as you go.

But many people still pay for college only to become janitors or food service workers.

I mean, if you have really studied critical theory, which is basically about how organizations and groups result in biases that compound individual biases, you can really help an organization hire, organize, and manage better. People who haven't studied critical theory often try to implement affirmative action by writing job adds saying things like "minority, women, LGBTQ+ friendly", which is basically like saying "white cis straight men need not apply". A better method though is to advertise jobs in publications that have demographics that include the minorities that are underepresented in the organization. Or maybe just stop putting job adds in the newsletter of all white country clubs. So critical theory isn't really about stupid political correctness or going to opposite extremes of past wrongs. It's about assessing and reassessing how we do things then doing better. Which is much of what HR people do, or should do, anyway.

I can't speak for the intelligence of the brunettes as they were rarely, if ever, allowed to speak.

Hmmm, I seriously doubt that. Still, people should stop spouting off about "dumb blondes" etc. This stuff is not much different from e.g. people talking about "idiotic Indians" whose "average IQ is around 80" (saw that one online recently).

And the rest of your group was incapable of speaking up?

After the first day, everybody else gave up. People tried. On my first day I had my hand up for an hour. People vocalized but the teacher would just talk over them. He had a microphone. It was one of those giant lecture halls that looked like a theater. He'd have his TA bring a mic over to the blondes and not let anybody else speak. Like I said, he would literally do his work incorrectly. Other people noticed his bad math and would try to point it out, but the guy was totally oblivious to anything other than the dumb blondes.

"Dumb" is the qualifier, here, if you can't tell.

I'm pretty sure the dude fielded the class on the first day for the dumbest ones and decided to only speak to them because he knew that if he could talk to them for long enough, he wouldn't actually have to teach. And it worked! He never did. I'm still not sure if it was either that or sex that was his motivator. Regardless, he was an awful teacher and an even worse physicist.
