I support MGTOW and recommend not to marry, and more important, not becoming a father. But I'm married. Why? After I was tricked into fatherhood and screwed with the usual things (child support and support for the mother which ist high in my country even if you were not married, being alienated from the child and so on) I realized I had really nothing more to lose. So why not try some fun and use some of these mechanisms in my own favor?

So I married someone with a good income. She works much more, with marriage we have benefits from income tax and health insurance. Got more children. I am the one who looks for them. Plus some nice hobbies for me. She pays the bills. If the marriage breaks, I am the one wo collects alimony and half of everything. Maybe it will not develop this way, but who cares? I already lost everything because of my first fatherhood.

We should not judge men because of the legal state they are. Sometimes there are more reasons than the first look suggests. Someone 10%, 40%, 80% MGTOW, just supporter, self designated MGTOW? Why should this matter? Go YOUR own way.

MGTOW, in it's best sense, is being corrupted and invaded. In it's best sense, it is the understanding that men submit to being second status in the social structure that puts women on top. So men who marry submit to this second status and are not MGTOW. Those who want to marry are not MGTOW. Those men who, for whatever reason, can't get sex or a relationship with a woman without submitting to this second level status and keep trying for sex and relationships are also not MGTOW. Nothing will change for men until men stop submitting.

Began my journey 8+ years ago when, one frustrated night, I sat at my computer and typed, "why won't my wife give me blowjobs?" I've spend the last few years studying various aspects of the redpill, including PUA and MGTOW, and would choose MGTOW if I had a second chance. I stand to lose too much to make divorce worthwhile, so I'll suffer through (with compensation.)

Anyway, I agree that I'm not a MGTOW and that your point is correct. The only caveat would be that I would put lots of guys on this forum who are TFL or would otherwise jump at a girl in a heartbeat if they could get one (but cannot) in the same category.

For what it's worth, I'm betting a sizeable cohort here are married, at least 25% of the subs. I also think the married guys (I can mostly tell who they are) contribute some of the best content here, especially about the nature of women. Guys who fell in the pit and can warn others of the dangers ahead, as it were.

Respectfully, I will offer a scenario where a version of MGTOW does exist within a married confine. There are plenty of us that began our MGTOW as married persons. In my case I simply had had it. I’ll never forget the drive home from work after an on the phone beating from my wife. I thought about the futility of it, I thought about the example to my kids. I was positively suicidal by the time I got home.

Of course I rebounded quickly sitting in the back yard with a triple scotch imagining my life alone. What would that be like? I imagined how great it was. Then it occurred to me that I could begin immediately. Live the life I want completely how I want immediately.

The wife never cooked and never cleaned and expected me to do that. I was expected home by 7:00 every night. I was not allowed on solo trips out on weekends. I couldn’t even drive the car I wanted. So many more things not mentioned that she thought she had control over stopped in a moment. Sure I lost a lot in the divorce but what I didn’t realize was how much I had already lost and how insanely easy it was to regain everything from my self-esteem to my financial health once I was allowed to focus solely on myself.

Life is so good right now it should be illegal.

I'd say that somebody isn't MGTOW if they choose to get married. However, I'm not sure I'd agree that somebody who is married can't become MGTOW while they are already married.

This is basically just arguing over definitions though. Some say that married people who realize they messed up are "supporting MGTOW" and others might say that they "are MGTOW." Personally I tend to lean towards the latter, but the distinction doesn't seem all that important.

Now, if you're talking about purple-pillers who claim to be MGTOW while seeking to get married I'd agree with you. I started to get progressively more red-pilled towards the end of my marriage though I had not heard of MGTOW at the time. If I had I'd probably consider myself MGTOW, even if I was still stuck in a marriage at the time.

When you've never married, yet have dated a woman or women, you have tasted a sample of said problems. If tasting that set of problems has led you to be MGTOW, then you are MGTOW. I'm married and I agree with this wholeheartedly. I am drawn to the solution mindset of MGTOW, but recognise I cannot fully embrace it while I am also trying to honour God and do what is right for me and my family. I stay here because it helps me to stay focused on the important things.

I often talk to my wife about how men and women are different, and over time I have noticed she has changed EVER so slightly, in a positive direction. But that's not to say it could 'work' for everyone, it clearly wouldn't, and it's so slow, the pain and suffering you have to endure to get there just makes it not worth it at all.

The key is not to get married in the first place. Unless God finds you a wife, because only God can find a unicorn.

My life is not defined by my wife, and she does not control me. She is aware that my premarital assets are protected (House, Rental property, and pre-marriage retirement funds) She supports my hobbies / interests, and does not nag if I choose to do things without her (eg. hiking).

It was not easy to find someone like her, but they do exist. I'm realistic about divorce rates, and the divorce process. It also doesnt hurt that while she was already a citizen, she was raised outside of the US.

I do think a married man can come to MGTOW conclusions, but cannot truly go his own way until he is no longer married. Marriage for many is the ultimate red-pill that wakes them up. And we def see many married people come here.

So from a terminology perspective, yeah, impossible to actually be a MGTOW and married. But that doesn't mean we can't give these dudes the knowledge, support, and courage to end that sham before it's too late. At least, if that's what they want.

There are men who are married and come across MGTOW later on in life. A simple cost-benefit analysis could suggest that if there aren't any significant problems with the marriage that it's better to stay in it then pay a half-your-shit entry fee to get the title of "MGTOW." This is even more so the case if you have kids to consider.

If someone is MGTOW and then chooses to get married and still calls themselves MGTOW, that to me doesn't make sense.

I mean maybe there was a time back in the day, like the 17th/18th century where you were extremely wealthy and at 30 it was arranged for you to marry some 17 year old virgin and she like never left the house. Meanwhile you were constantly traveling, banging anything you wanted, and when you finally did make it home your hot young wife was just at home waiting.

You had all the power and did basically what you wanted. So I guess in a different time you could be MGTOW and married but those days are LONG gone, regardless of money in the bank. Umm...well...I am not MGTOW and never have been. I an happily married. It's why I've never subbed and never will, but that doesn't mean that I am uninterested or have nothing to contribute.

Frankly, I am certain that all or most men going their own way can neither be healthy nor a solution to the very real problems that exist. But, given the situation I think it most reasonable to GYOW. Women have made themselves virtually unloveable by and large.

I have sister-in-laws that have served up so many red pills over the years, and this is from the perspective of casual disinterest and/or avoidance; the reality of monkey branching, SMV, the CC, and other dynamics described here cannot be ignored.

However I am quite certain that AWALT is a myth. There are NAWALTS, though they are nearing extinction I fear.
