Note: this is specifically for the online context, and NOT including OLD, where it is expected for everyone to disclose their gender.

Outside of contexts where a woman is looking for sexual interaction/validation (e.g., OLD), are there benefits a woman gains from disclosing her gender in online conversation platforms like Reddit or Twitter? If so, do these benefits outweigh the risk of harassment, gatekeeping, and condescension?

I have seen comments on this sub claiming that people will express agreement with or be more tolerant of irrational/unpopular views if they come from a woman, but I have not personally seen examples of this. Assuming a woman does NOT want sexual validation or thirsty DMs, is this idea that women's comments will be viewed more charitably the main form of "pussy privilege" in the context of online conversation?

Do you have examples where this has occurred? Strong examples would be a case in which someone disagrees with a female poster until she reveals her gender, at which point the person arguing with her backs down (where her gender does not give her relevant personal experience, e.g., a man arguing with a woman over whether period cramps hurt more or less than a papercut should rationally defer to the woman's experience). Examples where you think a woman has made a stupid comment and is getting traction she doesn't deserve but there's no evidence that the people supporting the woman think it's a stupid idea (e.g., FDS circle-jerking) should not be submitted here. Actually please just entirely avoid misandrist subs like FDS and also avoid "safe space" subs for finding examples.
