Depends on your area I suppose. If there's not a French speaking population in your town, maybe you could freelance or work as a writing translator, like translating technical manuals to French/Quebecois to/from English. That would utilize your skillset without real time demands or face to face work with clients.

So far I've struggled to find something that doesn't drain my energy and contribute to me being an unpleasant person.

Oooh, I'll take one like this too! Been serving the public for over 1/3 century, been doing "earning a living" wrong apparently.

Whatever you're good at and interested in that has the maximal potential for flexible or at home hours combined with highest possible pay for such job.

Teaching and freelancing comes to mind first.

There are higher-paying alternatives, like accounting, programming, graphic design etc. for which you have to sacrifice some of the hours home, but still usually have no obligations outside of working hours and earn a lot.

If you want children, things like science, management, any sort of working on ships/plains/tour leading, medicine etc. should be avoided because they require you to be available all the time or absent from home often and tend to be stressful/exhausting.

Really low-paying jobs should be avoided, even if they hone your feminine skills, because they tend to involve a lot of manual labor which leaves you exhausted for the work at home and don't really compensate enough for sacrificing the time with your children.

That being said, this is just my rough opinion, a lot of this depends on your interests, what you're good at, what's your degree of education, your life plans, your country's economy, your SO's financial status, your common financial goals, living standard you're used to/want to be used to, your wish to have children and whether or not you have them, any debts you might have, what would make you happy and enable your positive attitude the most etc.

EDIT: Oh, I just remembered this wonderful veterinary couple I heard about. They're a married couple and they opened a clinic together and work together right besides their home. Something like that seems wonderful as well.

It's hard for me to pinpoint exact positions because I don't know what you studied in college, but I think a good guideline would be a job that offers flex hours and isn't very demanding mentally/physically.

For example, many computer programming positions give you a chance to work from home and/or come into the office whenever. Obviously things will get stressful if you're about to launch a product, but assuming you know your stuff (and enjoy programming), the day-to-day should be fairly easy to handle.

[EDIT: Since you seem to be interested in languages, look up transcription services that offer foreign language transcription/translation services. You work at your own pace and everything is online so you can work from home. If you don't want to work from home, you could also do contract work for local police stations, hospitals, etc.]

I'm a project manager, make almost 6 figures, have flex hours and get to make sure everyone on my team is taken care of. I really like it.

I have a law degree (with philosophy undergraduate degree) and work as a legal researcher, editor, and writer. I get to work remotely and take care of all meetings and conferences over email or the phone.

It's perfect for me! I get to stay home and keep things up, but I also get to have a job that engages my mind and keeps me sharp. I also have a lot of time to edit and work on my publications, as well as make dinner and spend time with SO when he comes home!

I feel like my job is very RPW. I have one more year until I finish my nursing degree and my SO is a police officer. We both serve the public and help people except I have the feminine role and he has the masculine. I love that!

Not really RPE for me at there monthly. :(Right now I'm part of a call center helping people with their 401Ks, though ultimately I want to be helping researching/designing the training programs for new hires. Currently I've been working on integrating myself into being a mentor to others by simply being pleasant and offering to help with questions from new team members.

It's not overly RPW, but I've been doing better and better the more RPW I incorporate. It's made my schedule more hectic, but it's well worth it. I majored in Linguistics, so this is a bit of a different field for me.

I wouldn't mind being a SAHM, but while hubby is in school I'm working my butt off! :)

Teaching field is the best (low work compared to other jobs/medium pay) . Teaching college students is better than teaching students at school cause they are more well behaved even if they are lazy . Also there are less expectations for you to make sure all students pass in college . At most the worst thing that will happen is that college guys can hit on you :) and you shouldn't let this go to head .

I dont think RP professes that a woman should not have a job or should have a lower status job . RPW may suggest for that and it does make sense why it suggests that .

As long as a job doesnt stress you out and make you push its toll on your relationship , I am sure your husband would be fine with any job you have .

If you're looking for traditionally feminine jobs, nursing or CNA work is classic care taker. Receptionist and administrative jobs are largely defined as a "female" job, day care worker also. There are no "RPW approved" jobs per say, but I think you're more asking about traditionally feminine jobs, if I'm understanding correctly.

I feel most feminine and free when being a (systemic) psychologist, helping families and children. For your degree, maybe you could consider work that you can do at home, maybe on an independent basis in the long run? I'm thinking writing, copywriting, editor, ... All that stuff. Of course, there needs to be a demand on the job market as well. Maybe you could consider teaching, too, if the first things don't work out.

The job I have now is pretty RPW. I'm an assistant manager over a large site, and my manager is a seemingly RP man. I look at it as a Captain/First Mate dynamic, but in the workplace, not a relationship. It works well for me because I get to make decisions and be independent over my team, but ultimately I know I can fall back on him and he can take care of any issues that I cannot.

With your degree I completely recommend teaching. Or tutoring. I'm not sure where you are located but growing up I had tutors and so did my friends. Parents will invest in and shell out major cash to tutors that are clicking with their kid. And you are doing really rewarding work!
