This is what I just said on the Purple Pill Debate and I think it's relevant here:

So here's the thing, TRP makes conclusions to create an individual worldview that maximizes utility for OURSELVES, not anyone else. IE we're not advocating that marriage be outlawed, we just think it's a bad idea for a man. There's no force involved. These are freely made decisions made at an individual level.

>Buy that girl flowers? Fuck no.

>Buy her a drink? Fuck no.

>Buy her a ring? HELL NO.

>There is no need to convince anyone else through studies. There's no legislative agenda. Do we like studies? Sure. But the only people affected are the individuals adhering to TRP and those who freely CHOOSE to associate with them.

>This is why TBP almost seems like a creepy stalker sub to me. Men are getting together freely associating about their own lives and women are literally hanging on to their every word trying to demonize us. It's a weird dynamic to say the least.

[–]no_game_player 17 points18 points19 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

This is why TBP almost seems like a creepy stalker sub to me. Men are getting together freely associating about their own lives and women are literally hanging on to their every word trying to demonize us. It's a weird dynamic to say the least.

Aye. Not just women, either. It's perhaps one of the largest organized strawmen I've seen setup, behind SRS itself of course. It is quite strange.

It's this weird incoherent zone I hate, where because you're satirical you can say any horrible thing you like and act like there's no accountability, etc. Accuse people of being rapists, why not? I really can't stand it, because you can't honestly engage them any of the times when they veer near a legitimate point, because they can just retreat to the nonsense whenever they like.

Sincerity is incredibly important. And that's one of the things I've found very attractive about TRP, is that it doesn't try to be this fucking bullshit post-modern sort of everything is true and do whatever nonsense, but people actually believe in objective reality and debate about it. Shockingly rare, particularly for lay social theories, imo.

So, yeah. But haters gonna hate.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Sincerity is the heart of TRP.

Be YOU. The best YOU you can possibly be. Don't lie to women, be honest and direct about your intentions. Have some pride in yourself.

Those are the core of RP. The absolute base concepts that everything else builds on, and the fact that it gets discounted, glossed over, rationalized away and flat out ignored in favor of calling us rapists or misogynists is amazing to me.

[–]no_game_player 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Don't lie to women, be honest and direct about your intentions.

Shockingly, I've never seen that part referred to in TBP. Ever. They don't even satirize it from anything I'd seen. They're just totally unaware of it.

Most of them probably don't even read TRP. All they know of it is the bizzaroworld distortion that TBP creates.

I mean, really, TBP is a useful teaching tool for TRP in some ways. It's quite a variety of complex and powerful mechanisms going on, resulting in something which is, quite literally, shocking to see.

And for knowledge in general. I could make a great Allegory of the Cave version with TRP/TBP...might actually be worth doing it.

You know what's really funny? This is the only "relationship/game" theory that puts the onus on oneself, and not the "target". Go to the gym, get in great shape, be confident in yourself, do things for you and you alone, be awesome. Do that, and your efforts with women will bear fruit.

This is one of the best self-help subreddits there is. But no, it's just a bunch of swinging dicks high-fiving each other about SLUTS. /s

People call us assholes, jerks, and people who hate women.

FUCK YOU. What part of this shit dont you understand?

Thats the thing tho.

I lost a great girl last summer, BECAUSE i didnt want sex.

I was happy that she was just a great girl. One that I enjoyed her company so much I could happily wait to fuck her.

She was young, she wanted fun and sex, and when I didnt give it to her. She left. I could see it in her eyes every time she saw me, that she still wanted me, but because I was not an aggressive sexual man. It was over.

[–]no_game_player 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

Ah, yeah, I hear ya. My first reaction (sorry) was mental laughter as you started describing it, and then the recollection came to me of a chick I really liked that I lost in the same damn way. And not cleanly either, ended up basically being an orbiter off and on for a while. In fact, my reaction to the experience of knowing her was my "pre-RP" which made everything here seem so obvious once I found it (that, and knowing a couple other similar chicks as friends, but those didn't make the same impact because there wasn't attraction there. I could observe and appreciate without pain. But aye, losing the hot chick for being the boring guy fucking sucks.)

[–]Meglomaniac 16 points17 points18 points 12 years ago* (15 children) | Copy Link

Im not going to make this about my stuff and my experiences but since a lot of new people are going to see this so I will write this.

I have worked in the bar industry my whole life. Bouncers get the inside scoop with women who work there and drink there because we are considered "safe" and on the outside of their social world. You see all the "red pill" examples of women's experiences and actions. I have heard and seen HUNDREDS of confirmed examples.

When I came to TRP, it was like I was slapped in the face with what was infront of my eyes the whole time. All the times women told me about how "he was so great, but he was just too nice" and "he always wears his emotions on his sleeve, it turns me off".

This shit is legit.

[–]no_game_player 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

Im not going to make this about my stuff

Better man than I. ;-)

One of many reasons I've always wanted to be a bouncer. I don't have the physical build that people would expect it, so I've always wanted to be able to prove that I can still handle difficult situations, even if they come down to physical-only resolution, but also that I'm capable of being in control and managing a chaotic environment. 6 more inches would help, but then when doesn't it? ;-)

I've always wanted to work a door solo, despite all the many excellent reasons I really don't...

[–]Meglomaniac 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

NEVER EVER WORK DOOR SOLO.

I am a very respected bouncer, I know damn near everyone in my town, im 6'6" 280lbs, 10 years experienced.

I will never work door solo again. I had a 90 person brawl in a sleepy pub which can barely hold 150. Thank god for the Tamil cooks who came out with meat cleavers and knives to protect me.

That being said, you dont need to be big to be a bouncer. You need to be SMART to be a bouncer. We had one guy who worked with me for 4-5 years, one of the better bouncers I know. He wasnt very good at fighting or physical, but boy could he see trouble brewing. He would always be looking around, able to talk to people to calm them down. We flat out told him that we dont expect him to be able to brawl if it came down to it, but to just tackle one son of a bitch and take him out of the fight. The bouncers just kinda agreed that there are 3 types of doormen and everyone has their "type". Brawlers, Tacklers, and Talkers. I am a tackle/talker. Im not a super aggressive dont fuck with me bouncer, I am a chat you up and be diplomatic but Ill carry you out by your throat doorman. Its pretty easy to get people out the door when I can just bearhug them and carry them out, and that makes me a tackler.

Just as something interesting to note, the reason why bouncers should be feared in a fight is just this simple. You are not fighting a single man, you are fighting a team. They are sober, and love each other as brothers. I can say from experience that there is a 33% rule when there are fights. There are 33% combatants, 33% people trying to stop the fight, and 33% people standing and yelling encouragement. When you fight bouncers, you are facing 100% combatants who work as a team and unit.

Story time, my man.

[–]Meglomaniac 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Not really much to talk about.

Stupid hiphop kids get into a big brawl in the parking lot. Im standing infront of the door to protect the establishment and staff etc and someone comes out of the crowd and sucker punches me causing my cheek to bleed quite badly (think braveheart half face blood).

The waitresses inside saw my face and started to freak out, and the kitchen staff went into the back and came out with a bunch of knives knowing I was alone to protect me. We stood at the front door until the cops showed up, and they actually drew weapons on the cooks until I stepped forward. I fucking loved those cooks, I got chicken wings all the time from them lol

[–]no_game_player -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

I know. It's not in my "things to actually do" but "things I like the idea of". Kinda like enlisting. Although I got a lot closer to actually doing that one.

That being said, you dont need to be big to be a bouncer. You need to be SMART to be a bouncer.

See, I believe that, and I like that, but I still think people are just going to take a look at me and say, 'no'. Particularly with no relevant background.

The bouncers just kinda agreed that there are 3 types of doormen and everyone has their "type". Brawlers, Tacklers, and Talkers.

Hmm. I really don't think I can put myself into anything other than all of those. I'm not a best-buddy sort of guy, but I definitely think I can resolve conflicts verbally in a variety of ways and settings (and escalate them, but that's not relevant here...). I got a very minor (white belt) judo background, and there would certainly be times I could see just trying to get someone to the ground. But I wouldn't mind mixing it up more thoroughly either, although ideally that would never be necessary of course...

You are not fighting a single man, you are fighting a team.

Aye. Sort of like the old "you can't outrun the radio" bit with the cops.

Well, fwiw, you reaffirmed my conviction that I would enjoy being a bouncer and would be good at it. I still don't believe anyone will ever hire me to do it, but we shall see. Life is long. :-)

[–]Meglomaniac 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

You can definitely get hired.

Go to a place where you are not part of a small team, somewhere reasonably sized with 5-15 bouncers. Tell them flat out you understand your limitations in terms of size, stress the positives that you can bring, and tell them you wont run from a fight.

As long as you stand up for yourself like a man, and back your friends to the best of your ability, you are good. We always need people to watch the boring areas.

[–]trpalternate 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A bit of advice my father gave me: We tell men not to think with their dicks because it's disrespectful to women. But there comes a time when, if you don't act, you're not respecting her either. If she wants you and you keep pushing her away or can't take a hint, you are not respecting her, you're rejecting her.

You ever been tempted to slum in TBP at all? They might enjoy you...or possibly you them. ;-p

[All lies. They would probably heavily downvote at first and ban pretty quickly. But it would be amusing to have the precisely timed logs...]

Nah, I bet I am banned as it is, besides I know that world and didnt like how it treated me.

[–]no_game_player 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

True, there's no point in going over there without a strong masochistic streak. Which I admittedly have...

Im more of a sadist and definitely dominant, its a waste of my time to go there.

[–]Toof 16 points17 points18 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You know what I think it is? Women believe that people are the best they can be when they just sort of coast through life. When they are themselves. The idea of bettering the self is extremely foreign to them. You can't make better what you are, you can only make what you are seem better by fixing it up, or putting the rest down.

To them, the idea of becoming stronger, becoming confident, changing our approach to relationships and women... it's disingenuous, not improvement. This is only my best-guess as to what it is.

Basically, if you are a nice person, you were always meant to be a nice person. The idea of self-improvement on anything other than an educational or physical level is foreign.

[–]Evers89 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Hands down, one of the greatest explanations to this sub that echoes the truth. We were at one point, lacking a backbone. This changes that.

They call us bitter, cult like, insert any other bullshit argument here. None of that makes any sense.

It exists to help ourselves. Sure some of the shit ruffles feathers, but that's how it is. Were on to 40k subscribers. Let's stop pretending were full of shit and just rapists in waiting.

Fun fact: Misogyny literally means hatred of women. Makes zero sense applied to this.

[–]2 Senior Endorsed Contributorvengefully_yours 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I like em, even if I dont trust them. They are who I want to fuck, frolic, and photograph, because I like em.

[–]Humankeg 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Can confirm. I enjoy topics such as many in this sub because I was that waaaaay too nice guy once upon a time. Experiences shared like the ones in this sub have helped me become someone that women actually chase after.

Yes I use women for sex (because I love sex) but I use them for companionship, friendship, and good times, but this goes for almost everyone out there.

[–]Meglomaniac 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think the most important thing that I learned from this sub is that relationships are not black and white. You dont just jump into a relationship and immediately become monogamous.

Too many people, especially here, dont date. They try to go from single and lonely, to married/commited.

It doesnt work.

[–]Humankeg 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I was once down voted by numerous people for suggesting to someone to date multiple people. I was quite surprised that it seemed like such an unpopular idea.

[–]OKJaded 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

People who can't change hate those that choose to. Every day we forge ourselves into the men we want to be. Its hard work. Little by little we improve. Rather than put in the hard work, be self aware, and evaluate yourself physically and emotionally in an objective manner, our detractors try to tear us down. Instead they should choose to build themselves up.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think people have the notion in their minds that such people exist, there don't exist any subreddits that are more hardline in that role than TRP so trp gets the title.

if trp wouldn't exist MRA with their ways would be the neckbeards.

then again you have the not so innocent callouts from the SRS camp

[–]forgotmydamnpass 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What I like the most about this sub is the honesty and straightforwardness, people here always maintain their pride and instead of manipulating people in an underhanded way, it's straight to the point and doesn't sugarcoat things, I've noticed that the main goal of this sub is to use your own power to get the upper hand, not to use pity and other things like that to create attraction, to improve and give value to yourself is always the number one advice given here too and I can easily get behind that

[–]abcd_z 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

and your efforts with women will bear fruit.

FTFY.

EDIT: What? "be bare fruit" doesn't mean a damn thing.

[–]sting129 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

that's what happens when I don't backspace all the way, and then choose the wrong word. thanks.

[–]Senior ContributorDemonspawn 67 points68 points69 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Why such hate?

Because taking responsibility for yourself is the most frightening thing possible for the majority of people in our society. If you explain to them that they failed because of their own failures rather than because of "fate" or something else out of their control, they freak out and fight against it.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

responsibility

You've hit the nail on the head there.

[–]FortunateBum 32 points33 points34 points 12 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link

A really good question, that I truly can't answer, is why does this sub create such a negative response? I'm dumbfounded by this. I honestly don't understand why some women react poorly to PUA, game, and the seduction community either. I just don't understand their thinking.

Women write books and articles about how to get boyfriends, please boyfriends, marry well, find the man of your dreams, etc. and men don't generally get enraged and call these writers man-hating hags. So what gives?

[–]SnickerSnak 45 points46 points47 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I honestly don't understand why some women react poorly to PUA, game, and the seduction community either.

  1. Women hate risk.

  2. Having children is risky business, a woman has to give up some of her resources to have children and to be pregnant is to be vulnerable.

  3. The worst sex-related outcome for a woman is to mate with a genetic loser. She will have put herself at great risk to bring into the world inferior humans.

  4. If you need to be taught not to be a loser (PUA, game, etc.) this means you are not a genetic winner (a natural).

Thus anyone trying to learn to become attractive to women is someone who is not a genetic winner but is trying to simulate being a genetic winner. In her mind he is trying to trick a woman into risking her life to bear his genetically inferior children. He becomes a threat, creepy, manipulative, disgusting, a rapist, etc.

[–]ilovemyself101 20 points21 points22 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

On the flip side they can wear makeup, push-up bras and high heels and no one calls them lying/manipulative etc. Well I do.

[–]SnickerSnak 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yeah but men don't generally care. Shooting a bunch of sperm around isn't nearly as dangerous to a man as pregnancy is to a woman. You could theoretically impregnate every woman you encountered and their pregnancies wouldn't effect your survival at all. For this reason men never developed the deep visceral loathing of the sex act with an unsuitable mate.

You wake up next to a whale after a night of drunken debauchery you don't run to the police station to file sexual abuse charges, you shrug and say to yourself "What the hell was I thinking?!" and move on with your life.

[–]ilovemyself101 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And your absolutely correct, our survival is not impacted by getting with / hooking up with a 5 for eg. But there's maybe if they fall pregnant to a '5'.

It's still a double standard, and thankfully the ones I've called out don't know why they feel that way and so their hamsters spin

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You deserve more upvotes for comparing the psychology with a real world situation, not enough redpill members do this.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly! I always argue with people about this… women have SO MANY resources to make themselves way, way more attractive looking than they actually are. Men only have the gym to get bigger muscles.

Iv'e met girls who literally look like completely different people when their not caked up.

edit: sorry for the rant, people always shoot me down calling me an idiot when I make this argument.

[–]1whatsazipper 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What's a genetic loser if his genes didn't doom him to becoming a loser?

If you're talking about behavior, then interactions with the opposite sex are easily modeled like any other sort of skill acquisition grounded in intelligence.

Aversion to the spread of game is likely out of some fear or recognition that it works, and subsequently reduces their elevated position in the sexual marketplace. Or is simply so alien to them that they can't relate to it and it strikes them as wrong; they don't have the mindset of pursuers.

[–]SnickerSnak -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What's a genetic loser if his genes didn't doom him to becoming a loser?

A genetic loser in the context in which I'm talking about it is a person who does not instinctually display the behaviors that a woman is attracted to. We know women are hypergamous, and will seek to mate with the best available. Which is better for a woman to mate with, a man who displays genetic fitness (and will thus pass on some of that fitness to his offspring) or a man who is able to fake his genetic fitness (and thus won't pass on a genetic advantage)?

Aversion to the spread of game is likely out of some fear or recognition that it works, and subsequently reduces their elevated position in the sexual marketplace.

This is essentially what I said. If a woman is fooled by a PUA she has been tricked into accepting a genetically inferior mate. The end result is the same as if the PUA had lowered her SMV. Should game spread through the male population she might not be able to tell who learned game and who has the good genes to pass on. She will be forced to take a risk and mate with someone who may not be as genetically gifted as she would desire.

This risk arouses a great loathing in her, she will attempt to crush the practice of game like she always has, through the use of shaming tactics and the proxy violence of white knights.

[–]el_chipi 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because it changes the sexual market for them. In the past, women had the power of withholding sex in exchange of marriage/children/family/providing man. The value of sex has declined so much that a guy that knows his value holds all the cards in the deck... feminism has stacked the deck for us in the sense that we have the leverage of deciding marriage.

Its about supply and demand, there is a high demand for men that want to marry from post-wall women and the supply gets lower every time someone opens their eyes (read TRP). And the supply of sex with no strings attached is as high as it can be... so we get what we want without giving anything in return. They messed up the sexual market, and that makes us the "assholes" that take advantage.

This post is considered concern trolling and has been removed. Do not make more posts in the style of "TRP is good because of X but is bad because misogyny/bitterness/neckbeards blah blah" if you have a legitimate concern about TRP address it in mod mail.

Women are inferior to men in almost all aspects which is why society expects infinitely less from them than it does men. We are sexist because we identify the significant differences between men and women, we do not however, hate women. We simply don't buy the feminist rhetoric that they can do what we can do (and remain psychologically healthy and still act feminine) and yadda yadda.

Many men are bitter because they expected their woman to love them unconditionally like their mothers did, but found disappointment and got burnt upon discovering she was willing to drop him like a dead weight for exposing too much vulnerability. The bitterness is natural and a stage in the healing process, many men here address their bitterness by engaging with it in a logical manner that allows for a process of catharsis, this means their delivery may be harsh to the sensitive ear, but their ideas not necessarily wrong. Ignore it, do not criticize it. Every man on TRP has a right to indulge in his pain as part of the healing process. If men cannot be allowed to express their bitterness here, they cannot do it anywhere. This is a male space in an ocean of gynocracy. We are here for boys and men alike, not to pander to the disgust, whims and sensibilities of feminist society.

It is my hope and I think I speak for the rest of the mod team when I say this, that most of the men who come here will resolve their bitterness and become healthy productive people, but the existence of bitterness here will not be outlawed or shamed or criticized or questioned or scrutinized or undermined in any manner, it will be accepted and tolerated. These hurt men need that acceptance and that is partly what we're here for. This isn't therapy in the traditional sense, it's self-help in a tolerant circle, and I believe it's that tolerance and ability to relate with others here that ultimately has a therapeutic effect and allows damaged boys and men on a negative trajectory to truly change their life around and start living a healthy and productive lifestyle.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, that's one of the wackier things that come from here. I imagine a lot of people here disagree with it. Like when Return of Kings wrote that women with short hair were damaged I was glad to see the comments mostly saying it was ridiculous bullshit.

My favorite part of this sub is that if you're even slightly whiny someone will call you out on it.

[–]anotherthrowawaybiff 11 points12 points13 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It's an interesting dichotomy. I've done this sometimes in both AskMen and AskWomen - Give a totally TRP answer to something without mentioning TRP. Upvotes. Give same advice, credited to TRP - Downvote oblivion.

I've only been reading here for maybe 5-6 months, admittedly, but I've never once seen pro-rape posts. It's true that some of the guys (a minority, IMO) are angry as hell at women, but they usually have justification for how they feel and this is (gasp) a safe space for men to talk honestly to each other, without having the Overlords of Political Correctness hanging over and monitoring our every comment.

Most of the guys I've talked to here seem like good guys. They also seem like they are effective guys, or if not, they're taking the responsibility upon themselves to try to be, or to learn to be. Political correctness has very little to do with basic decency or moral character. Consider this - Your car breaks down in a strange city while traveling. Which sub do you think would be more likely to get help to you, TRP, SRS, or TBP?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

TRP would teach you how to fix your car so you don't need help next time it breaks. TBP would tell you cars are too hard to understand, call nine tow truck companies, and then ask you if you saw The Big Bang Theory last night.

[–]anotherthrowawaybiff 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is a most excellent analogy. SRS would tell you that you're a car-privileged asshole and you should just die. My point, though, is that while sometimes they're right and sometimes they're wrong, TRP is at least trying to help you out with practical information. And I suspect that if I posted here with, "FUCK! Engine just threw a rod in XXX strange city, can anyone here pick me up?", someone would probably respond and help me get to a motel, and that speaks well of the group in general, IMO.

What you need to understand is that the hens over at feminism, SRS and bluepill are always on the lookout for something to be offended over. Thell take your posts out of context, butcher any analogies you make and generally confuse themselves until they hate you. Iv tried to engage logically with the other side on multiple occasions. They dont want ti understand you, they want to hate you.

[–]Endorsed ContributorBluepillProfessor 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Pure emotional reasoning. In opposing TRP they confirm it.

I think some stuff gets taken too far, with 2 things standing out the most:

1) Return of Kings - While not always wrong, this is clickbait designed for attention, and is our side's equivalent of Jezebel. Recognize it as such

2)Last Minute Resistance - This seems to be fringe and rarely brought up, but this really does sound rapey as fuck. Even if you agree with the advice given, we are in the era of college rape tribunals, and other nonsense so it is still a bad idea.

Those points aside, we are nothing like the SRS/whiteknights say, I've seen feminists make accusations of racism, pedophilia, etc without posting any links to corroborate. Essentially just saying the worst things they can think of to badmouth us. I've also been seeing them accuse anyone arguing almost anything that they disapprove of as redpill("sure smells like redpill in here"). Considering the fact that subs go up by about 150 a day, their false advertising isn't working

[–]1PaulRivers10 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

  1. Totally agree with you about ROK.

  2. It does sound rapey as fuck. Problem is - that doesn't change the large number of women who want that, enjoy that, and expect that you will do that to overcome their resistance.

One of the (many) problems with modern feminism is that all it does is whine, whine, whine about how everything is mens fault, including things like this that are a direct result of how women act and what women do.

Very occassionally, feminism tries to address something like this - http://feminspire.com/why-i-never-play-hard-to-get/

But mostly they just seem to try to go with "nothing is women's fault, everything we don't like let's blame it on the men".

Let me put it this way - when men heard they could get laid by putting on a fuzzy hat and wearing nail polish, men started wearing fuzzy hats and nail polish. When it didn't work, they stopped, but the point is that how men treat women is a direct result of what women respond to.

My friend who picked up game is now dating a girl long term, and he describes all the resistance she put up - before wanting to hang out with him again, slowly giving him more and more until he was hooked, etc etc.

We're just describing what a very large amount of women respond positively to. It's not our fault that women like it.

Considering the fact that subs go up by about 150 a day, their false advertising isn't working

Haha, actually, it's working in reverse. The more they bash the red pill, the more people hear about it from them and show up. That's how I did - I heard about mra's, but when I read their stuff it was to whiny for me. I heard about The Red Pill from a feminist site bitching about it, so I checked it out.

[–]robesta 10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

LMR has a bad name. Basically, you're just ignoring a girl when she invites you up to her place and leads you on then tries to not have sex. There's no intimidation or anything like that, you're just not giving her the validation she wants. This is more of a PUA concept than a TRP concept.

[–]1mrust 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I agree with you about LMR but I also think that TRP is getting watered down, and feminists are winning the argument via the Overton window. I was speaking to an older guy and his view was "Sometimes no means yes." He's absolutely right but it's not a PC thing to say is it?

[–]robesta 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The Overton Window is an interesting concept. The thing is, the Overton Window is a leviathan and we're a small movement. We have to balance marginalization with the value of our message. Personally, a watered down TRP trumps any other movement.

[–]no_game_player 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I'm with Louis CK on that one. No means no to my taste.

Edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4hNaFkbZYU

[–]circlhat 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If a girl says no, than you don't rape her, LMR has nothing to do with that, it simply means if a girl is unsure and ask you a question. You sure as hell better have a good answer.

Louis CK example is not LMR, and only a fool would have done what she wanted.

[–]no_game_player 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I get that.

Agreed.

Just responding specifically to:

I was speaking to an older guy and his view was "Sometimes no means yes." He's absolutely right but it's not a PC thing to say is it?

I should've picked that out specifically in my first post I suppose. And it's ambiguous as to what it refers to but...

[–]1mrust 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That video actually proves my point. I wasn't arguing that you should ignore a "no." That would be stupid. But in this case and many others no does mean yes. We're not psychics but that "no means no" meme has had such penetration that it leaves no room for discussion.

[–]circlhat 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

2)Last Minute Resistance - This seems to be fringe and rarely brought up, but this really does sound rapey as fuck. Even if you agree with the advice given, we are in the era of college rape tribunals, and other nonsense so it is still a bad idea.

Every time LMR comes up no one ever says force yourself on the girl, or threaten her, so no rape occurs, not even in the slightness

Most girls will say, "I don't want to sleep with you on the first date, I'm not a slut"

You can simply say, "I just go with the flow" , this is a response to her LMR, at what point is this rape?

[–][deleted] 21 points22 points23 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Are we really that bad?

[–]1legedu 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]JustThrewUp 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, if you take feminism es reference point, while you can tell that it is bad (just like anything else), you cant tell how bad it is. Feminism has been bitching about the most trivial shit like it advertised genocide.

Just look at their game critics. "What? No womyn in that game? Sexist devs"

They do this with anything they disagree with to the point where slightly "sexist" games sound just as bad as rape itself.

They discredit themselves.

There's a list of reasons why The Red Pill is hated upon so much.

  1. Feminist, like any political group, hate on any other group that challenges their power. Liberal groups hate on conservatives, conservative groups hate on liberals, and feminist hate on anything that takes away their fake "this is how women are" image, or challenges their belief that their needs are important while mens are not.

The Red Pill pisses off feminists like universal health care pisses off conservatives, or Fox News pisses off liberals. Whether you think they're right or wrong is not relevant to my point - it challenges their entire value and belief system, and undermines their power.

  1. It challenges the "women are delicate angels" view. This is related to #1, but it's a viewpoint that's common along a women who have nothing to do with feminism, and is true of both conseratives and liberals.

  2. It's socially often looked down on and shamed to want to be "better with women". Stupid, yes. But it is how it is. And that's what the red pill is a lot about.

  3. Feminism - like any political group - has spent a lot of time shaping language for their own ends. Language that is used everywhere, in mainstream media, etc.

Let's say I told you that this last weekend I was visiting a girl. She was sitting on my bed. I started touching her. She started resisting me. I grabbed her hands and held them - and took pictures of her with me holding her (though fully clothed in this case). What's your gut response before the red pill? Well - it's that I'm a frieking creepy weirdo asshat. That's the image that feminism has created.

In reality, if there was a video of what I was doing - pretty much no one would have a problem with it. Other cues - her smiling, her laughing, her pulling away then coming back, etc etc. But people have gotten conditioned to seeing any description of aggressiveness, masculinity, or sexuality as though it's something happening in the first 5 minutes of an episode of Law And Order where you know that something bad is about to happen.

So when they read these, they imagine the worst possible scenario those words could depict.

  1. The Red Pill is fairly - I'm not sure what the word is - amoral? It really peels away the happy truths we tell ourselves about certain things. It's a little sociopathic in constantly trying to describe how things actually work, rather than how they're supposed to work.

  2. The Red Pill is unbalanced - this is my opinion, but I frankly don't think it would be healthy if the only things you knew about women were from The Red Pill. TRP is about peeling away the veneer - but it's kinda designed for people who were living with the veneer to begin with.

For someone who's never had unrealistic expecations about how deeply women would love you, telling them "women will never love you like you want them to" just sounds like you're being an ass. It only makes sense to people who started off with unrealistic expectations.

Expressing anger at the hypergamous nature of women makes sense to someone who grew up with the overly idealistic illusion. For someone who doesn't have that, it just sounds like you're being an ass.

Etc.

I don't know, I wrote this whole thing, then I realized - I've almost never read anything accurate about The Red Pill when people are bitching about it. Usually it's just stupid stereotypes. So...hmm.

[–]FortunateBum 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

It's a little sociopathic in constantly trying to describe how things actually work, rather than how they're supposed to work.

So telling the truth is sociopathy? I'm sure you don't mean literally this? Maybe you could expound?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I don't think he means sociopathic in a bad sense. Sociopaths are actually the most logical people by definition. Just like what he said above, Sociopaths do not abide by how things "should" work in society, they instead manipulate others to their own will because that is how it "does" work.

[–]1PaulRivers10 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is pretty close to what I meant - I wouldn't even go as far as "manipulate", rather just that they don't perceive how things are "supposed" to work in society, they just interact with society as it "does" work, on an ammoral level.

A lot of times people are uncomfortable (not saying it's good or bad) discussing issues dealing with human interaction without at least a nod towards a sense of morality in the discussion.

So telling the truth is sociopathy? I'm sure you don't mean literally this? Maybe you could expound?

Imagine you're sitting at dinner. There's a cute girl sitting across the table from you. You start talking about how you heard her taking the biggest poop in the bathroom you've ever heard the other day.

If you bring this up, then keeping going on about it, you're kind of a sociopath - it's almost universally considered extremely rude and against social rules to talk about something like this.

Talking about sexual strategy that doesn't involve beta patterns is - for some reason - usually viewed very similarly. They're both "true" - it's still considered against social rules to talk about them.

[–]HitlersCow 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I can but only little, as I am on mobile. Truth is treason in an empire of lies. Telling things how it is without political correctness is typically seen as detached and machiavellian - and thus, devoid of human emotion. In short, sociopathy.

TRP is constrained by being the underdog. its not like there isn't any misogyny here, just that its not that big of a deal.

It would be kinda funny to have a .. you know all boys tree fort for grown men and have some quality control that keeps the n-beards out, but mostly funny.

as for why people think that way? well such a subreddit doesn't exist. back in the day MRAS as sheepish as they were were put in the role of the "other side" now suddenly they are becoming more mainstream and feminists pretend to care about mens issues in their little girl forts of academia and magazines. (well wayy back in the day nobody took feminists/marxists for what they are anyway and they had the constraint of the underdog)

suppose bigger misogynists (with some credibility) would pop up (think returnofkings/roosh and add a bit) on reddit suddenly TRP would be centrist.

what would be their mode of operation? I don't know, humor, sticking it up to sluts, fat shaming weeks? glorifying the bachelor lifestyle and not making any excuses of non coercion about it? who knows.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There was a radishmag article posted about TRP a few weeks ago. I think this speaks volumes about why, even if its satire/sarcasim.

They’re talking, these “Red Pillers,” speaking quite freely, about — oh, whatever pops into their heads! Unlicensed advice, unofficial opinions, roaming wild, without a single academic department or any other kind of regulatory agency in sight. Would it kill them, really, to run it by a feminist professor first? Oh, well, apparently you don’t need a master’s degree in critical gender theory to understand men and women anymore. I guess even a non-Marxist should be allowed to publicly say things about human nature! Hate-facts? Sure, why not, just throw them in — as if politically incorrect reality could ever trump social justice! What a sad, strange world we live in.

The ideas of feminisim worked when the world, men and women, behaved like the characters on Mad Men. Since then men have had their masculinity brow beaten from them, but feminism still wants to act like we are all raised to be a Don Draper.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The religious immediately disregard criticism, calling it blasphemy, and they ridicule the blasphemer. The same holds true for feminism, those who hold opposing views are blasphemers and they're ridiculed for it.

[–]MahlerNinth 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It would be really easy for TRP to turn into a circlejerk of people who just call everything beta and relentlessly rant about/make fun of women.

Occasionally it might veer that way if we have a bunch of MRAs or other angry men who suddenly come across this via AskReddit or something else, but the moderation and a lot of the veteran posters here do a good job keeping this on topic. TRP's definitely far less circlejerk-y, more open minded and less clique-y than most subreddits here.

[–]infernalsatan 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I have seen some extremists did something questionable, then claiming it was TRP who taught him to do that.

Yeah, some people end up here for the wrong reasons (they are angry a woman), but hopefully stay for the right reasons.

Personally I don't like it when blanket statements are made about feminists. I think part of the problem is we are all pretty young and don't remember a time that women were severely repressed. I have a lot of friends are feminists, maybe not in the same sense others are. They have been great intellectuals and lovers. They don't say any of the stupid shit that is cherry picked from feminists sites and posted on TRP.

That's because it's a natural part of the process.

Every TRPer has to at some point go through the phase where he's irritated that he's been lied to his whole life and still sees women as being the "enemy." This phase abates with time. Everyone comes around to acceptance eventually.

This subreddit is vilified for two reasons:

  1. The truth that is spoken here is a very hard truth to accept. It's the adult equivalent of finding out that Santa isn't real.
  2. The truth that is spoken here is spoken alongside a lot of misogynistic bullshit. Let's admit it - some dudes are on this sub just hating on women because they're bitter, and they get upvoted by fellow bitter men.

The thing that I think is funniest is that while I agree there's a lot of bullshit on here, a lot of people when they hear about me posting on RedPill immediately think that I'm some sort of TRP stereotype and that they have license to dismiss any other arguments I make. Then I mention that I was once banned here (all in the past TRP, we're on good terms now) and they have nothing to say on the subject. I know I'm not the only dude on here who is able to pick up the nuggets of wisdom that are provided while sifting right past the bullshit, and most people just can't handle that. They don't want to acknowledge the truth that can be found here, so they define everything that is said by the lowest common denominator - which let's face it, in any public forum, the lowest common denominator is gonna be pretty damn low. And this sub is no exception.

Is this sub bad? At times yea, it can be pretty downright bigoted and/or just plain stupid. But so is every other public forum. And honestly, I have never seen a forum so quick to jump on any members bullshit, which is a great thing. Hell, I'm probably wrong about more than one thing in this post alone, and I expect other members of the community will comment about the ways in which they disagree.

If I spend too much time online I start to think of some people as bad. It's sort of like if you spend all your free-time on youtube looking at conspiracy videos you start to think the world is like that. Whenever I find myself acquiring this attitude I get offline and into the real world. Betas (men and women) live largely uninteresting lives and spend an inordinate amount of time in fantasy land, which is frankly what the internet can become.

You know how sometimes when you listen to someone's story and they hype it up and dramatize it? That's how the internet is, except you don't have the chance to have been there with that person and know it's all bullshit.

We have a lot of guys that need to spend some more time on the sidebar that sub up thinking this is the He-Man Woman Hater's Club. They get the impression mostly because they are at their ropes ends but still have that super PC sensibility they've been conditioned to vet all their thoughts by that and ignorant people that decry this sub as all the horrible things imaginable being shat onto your face by the bogey man as he calls every woman you've ever loved a whore.

TL;DR People are catching bad vibes from the folks nay saying us and that is attracting folks with bad vibes here.

A separate note to any newcomers reading this, we aren't the opposite of feminism, too often do I read comments describing flaws with feminism and the very next thing is the exact same thing coming out of their mouths with proper nouns switched or some other variation of hypocrisy. When in doubt, sidebar.

No, I don't think we're bad people. I also don't think we're bitter or jaded (well, maybe a little). We've just discovered that our old view of the world is not the actual reality that we live in. When I first realized that, I was pissed off. I fell into depression. The anger and hurt has subsided and I've accepted this reality.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Isn't that what they are..?

Also, no, we're awesome, don't listen to other people.

Bluepiller: TRP IS SO HORRIBUL!

Innocent Guy Looking For Help: So... how do I attract women?

Bluepiller: TRP is all bullshit! TRP IS SO HORRIBUL!

That is TBP in a nutshell.

There's only so much bullshit you can sell a guy until he says, "Fuck This" and tries something different.

TRP is doing men AND women a service, saving guys that would have just flew off the handle bars shooting up movie theaters, going full on herbavore, or leaving the country to go find 3rd world poon tang.

TRP has some bad eggs, but one of the most important things is that its letting guys actually vent their frustrations, and its a place where guys actually get each other. Bottling shit up is much much worse. You know that guy that walks around with his head slumped and is gritting his teeth down to his gums? Do you really want to tell him, you just need to be nice? Where is the help for that guy?

You hear shit all the time about "HOW HARD IT IS TO BE A MODERN WOMEN", but there's little to nothing about how hard it is to be a man. There's no "The View" for men. If we had one, it would be called sexist and misogynistic. The media couldn't give 2 fucks about men, its only when men aren't doing what they are "SUPPOSE TO DO" that there's a problem.

TRP is one of the few places that actually tries to help other men. Rather than saying, "Shut the fuck up bitch and pick yourself up by your bootstraps" TRP says "this is how it works, this is how you can be more of a man."

To everyone else a man is mostly a worker and a means to supply the "greater of two consumers."

Late to this thread, but I'll give it a shot. I've often witnessed to sides in this subreddit. Much of the discourse is interesting, and helpful, yet much of the time I think things are taken in the wrong direction. For example, much of the time I see this false dichotomy between "being a nice guy" and "being a pussy that gets used." In many instances I think being kinda douchey is promoted because it can sometimes be effective in the pursuit of sexual relationships. This is because there are certain traits and behaviors associated with assholes that are helpful, but there is also for people who are considered nice. Most of my female friends consider me a nice guy. I've had sex with most of them. Outside of jest, I generally never talk about them in the manner that is often used here, which I often find to have an austere undertone. I often see women generalized here in such a way that portrays them as imbecilic gold-digging whores just looking to jump on the dick that will give them the best leg-up in life. Anyone who has sisters, mothers, or female friends who don't fall into a negatively portrayed schema could easily get offended when reading or hearing such terse caricatures.

At the same time, I realize there are many men in this subreddit that have experienced heartache, and are looking for ways to mitigate that in their pursuit of love or sex or whatever, so I tend to be forgiving of many of the emotional fallacies used to justify some ideas. Lashing out is indicative of hurt and frustration. Ultimately though, the lingua franca of this subreddit often and consistently dehumanizes women from what I've seen, and I submit, this is neither the most effective way to alter yourself to become a sex symbol incarnate or find a meaningful relationship with an amazing woman.

In my experience, I usually treat women like adults. I'm generally direct and honest with them about how I feel and what I want. If I like their personalities, I generally become friends with them and treat them the way I'd treat any friend. I usually end up sleeping with my female friends at some point, but rarely at the expense of our friendship. I value you them as human beings and individuals, and rarely chalk up their behavior as something they did simply because they are female. It's true I see a great deal of stories in here about women doing shitty things to men, and abusing their status in his mind. But their are shitty people in the world. I've met them, and I frequently weed them out of my life.

TL;DR: In my opinion, this subreddit is the coalescence of some great advice and some hurt individuals venting their frustration, and when that happens much of it comes across as negative towards outsiders.

there's an ugly underside to the community that's based on little else than bashing women based on pseudoscientific ramblings from 19th century "psychologists." sometimes we get what we deserve.

Groups and people don't typically have to announce how awesome and good they are when they are truly awesome and good.. Just saying.

TBP: YOU HATE WOMEN!

TRP: no i don't...

TBP: SEE! IT'S TRUE! IF YOU DIDN'T HATE WOMEN YOU WOULDN'T HAVE TO DEFEND YOURSELF!

dat circular logic

Do you honestly feel like that's the logic that was being applied here? And you might want to head down to your local Geek Squad I think your caps lock button is broken.

If posters like you are what TRP has evolved into, this subreddit is officially over. Betas like you that need to circle jerk each other on posts like this have ruined the thought provoking and Alpha nature of this subreddit.

All hail the caps lock troll.

Groups are always judged by their most vocal minority, and TRP ideals, on the surface, do attract a number of truly misogynistic assholes.

So, no, I don't think the majority of us are "that bad". I just shrug off the comments I see elsewhere, knowing that they're based on ignorance and hearsay.

[–]goodbytes95 -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

The top comments should answer your question. I lurk here because most of the posts crack me up. I think the reason other threads refer to you guys in this way is because you all seem like angry misogynists. Most men have been hurt and perplexed by women and how they behave, and that's normal. What's not normal is making women out to be evil, vindictive, greedy bitches, using numbers to assign their value, grouping men into alphas and betas, and other stuff that is equal parts hilarious and sad.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

In your opinion are people not allowed to feel angry? Have you considered that many people have gone through some very bad times in life? Anyone with any intelligence knows that all women are not one way. But consider that that some of us relate to some of the material here because we have experienced it first hand. Not just once. I don't think there is one kind of person here either.

[–]goodbytes95 -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree with you. I said above that people getting angry is understandable. It's what they turn to to solve that anger that the rest of reddit finds revolting. And I'm not saying that treating people like shit won't prevent some of them from wanting to have sex with you. But it's a mistake to think that everybody is like this and act accordingly.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

We don't (or at least shouldn't) group men as such, we group behaviors as such. Even by using the terms indicates that we are still valuing ourselves through female perception. But if we want to have sex with females it's a necessary evil.

Women may not be evil; but they are certainly vindictive during divorce and custody proceedings. They ARE greedy.

We use numbers to assign value because it gives us a frame of reference. Men are mathematical in nature. I could describe a woman as quite attractive, but what would that really convey in reality. Where as if I describe a woman as a 9 that conveys a concrete meaning. I'm placing that woman in the top 20% of all women.

[–]goodbytes95 -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You shouldn't, but that's what every post I've seen does. And you don't need to act like that to have sex with females. Some females, sure. Everybody likes different things. But this sub makes it clear that all females need to be treated this way if a person wants to have sex with them. What you're saying in the next paragraph is that women aren't always evil, but they can be. Men are the same way. I don't understand why you're telling me this. I understand the reasoning behind the numbering method, but from my perspective, it looks like you're assigning value to a woman based purely on her physical attributes, which might explain why this sub attracts men who have a hard time talking to women. Again, this is just what it looks like to me. If I am wrong, please correct me.

[–]gg_s 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

First, TRP doesn't set forth a concrete formula for interacting with women. TRP teaches heuristics. We identify certain behavior patterns, understand the motives behind them, and apply countermeasures where necessary. Every woman is different and special, yadda yadda, but virtually all women exhibit the same behaviors in the same situations. This is why TRP paints in broad strokes and generalizes everything.

Second:

"you're assigning value to a woman based purely on her physical attributes"

Yes, this is exactly what we are doing. In a sexual context, this is all we care about. We don't want to fuck your personality or your master's degree.

This sub attracts men who have a hard time talking to women because they bought into the ridiculous idea that talking to women is the key to building attraction. An attractive man conveys himself non-verbally. Attractive male traits such as pride, boldness, emotional stability, authority, and phsyical fitness have fuck all to do with talking to women. You cannot reason or debate your way into a woman's pants; a woman who allows it was going to fuck anyway.

A sufficiently attractive man can say some wild shit and still get an enthusiastic lay. Talking with women is not part of the equation, and men who have made this realization find their way to TRP.

[–]goodbytes95 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I guess where I disagree is that the heuristics are true, the patterns are real, and that all women exhibit the same behaviors. I think you guys are right on about self-improvement stuff, so no argument there. As for the physical attributes, I know you don't speak for every Red Piller, but is the sexual context all that the Red Pill deals with? Do you not believe in relationships, or is the Red Pill just not applicable to them? Sorry for all the questions, but thanks for taking the time to explain this stuff.

A large part of being the person you want to be, is deciding for yourself what is signal and what is noise. That applies in the world and in this forum itself.
