7/9/2015 9/21/2015 11/30/2015 3/31/2016 - I'm putting this up again since the signal to noise ratio has taken a shit again as we seem to have some new members who haven't been reading the rules and people are posting low-quality content. Read below (and the other rules threads in the sidebar) and adhere to the instructions. Newbies posting without doing so risk having their threads removed without notice.

Due to a rash of low-quality and low-effort posting, we're instituting some formatting changes for threads until otherwise noted.

All threads will now use the following structure: Bold section titles, line segment dividers, and bullets for lessons learned.

Summary: This is where you write a short 1 or 2 sentence summary at the top of the thread

Body:

This is a post body

Lessons Learned or Conclusion. This is where you state what your intended takeaway from your thread should be

• Lesson 1
• Lesson 2
• Lesson 3

Note: Red Pill Theory threads won't always have a lessons learned. We understand they're sometimes of an inquisitive/information collecting/stream of consciousness nature and therefore don't always have an applicable lesson at the time the thread was created.

Endorsed Contributors, Mods, Red Pill Veterans, and special posters (eg Rollo Tomassi) are exempt from these rules.

If you wish to have the freedom to post outside these guidelines, then you've got to earn it with high quality posts/threads of your own.

No links without a commentary.

We tried to be nice, but too many chuckleheads were drive-by linking to crap articles and whatnot.

I'm writing about good style and formatting habits because our mods are tired of filtering out all the bad content. Poorly formatted threads only makes their job all the more difficult.

Lessons learned: I learned not to shit post in /r/TheRedPill

If your post deviates from that format, then don't be surprised if it's removed. Should that occur, fix it up so it is formatted correctly (showing you can follow the rules) and notify the mods. So long as the thread is up to our standards, we'll go ahead an reinstate it.
