Before reading, please note this isn't me criticizing the pickup or seduction community. This is really a rant on my recent ambivalence towards the idea of new age social dynamics. I love the seduction community with my heart and I truly believe in what it does. I do think that the seduction community should be known as more of a self help community as the word seduction has a negative connotation. When people come to this subreddit, most of them don't really read the threads and just automatically assume we're scum because of the word 'seduction', but they fail to realize our #1 golden rule: leave the person better off than when they started.

Most of the guys who come here have generally the same story: They've been spurned most of their lives from the girls they dreamed of having. Now they're looking for the magic pill that they think the seduction community has. I believe that if there were ever a magic pill to exist, that this community has found it. The magic pill is realizing that there is no magic pill. There is only hard work.

I was one of those guys. Friend zoned hard by the girl of my dreams, by the girl I thought was perfect in every way. She was witty, she believed in fairy tales and whenever I saw her, whenever I spoke with her, I absolutely melted. She was madly(literally) in love with a guy that I could never be. He was smarter than me, more outgoing than me, more athletic than me, he was pretty much everything I wanted to be. And I couldn't even hate him, he was just too likeable.

Then my friend introduced me to the book "The Game" by Neil Strauss. I loved the book. On the surface the book is how to pick up girls using frowned upon methods of routines, treating every girl like an object and somehow manipulating them to sleeping with you. Deeper into that is the deep regret of swallowing that red pill. Deeper into that is the spiral of having so many girls yet feeling so incomplete without the 'one'. Deeper into that is the man's realization that he is still just a boy, that he still wants to believe in fairy tales but knows he can't, and knows that fairy tales don't exist.

And damn, does that hit close to home. I wish I could believe in fairy tales still. I wish that I could hold the girl of my dreams in my arms, and we could grow old together, and we could have a lovely family together, and we could just live out the rest of our lives together, happily ever after. Alas, shes no longer the girl of my dreams. Alas she lost the innocence that I was once so attracted to. Alas shes no longer the princess I so desperately wanted. Don't get me wrong, I did get her. I was able to use what I learned, I was able to become alpha enough to have her, but it didn't feel the same. It will never feel the same ever again.

I wish I could believe that fairy tales were real. I wish I could look at people the same way and not have every little body language be analyzed and processed in my head. I wish I took the blue pill.
