She's only getting charged with manslaughter? Assault in the first degree is more believable. She deserves the longer sentence, as well.

Granted she did accidentally kill her boyfriend, but higher justice will be served and meet the same legal requirements to qualify for an assault(1st degree) charge.

I really find it odd when it seems to be only women's lives matter in a verdict. I'm not talking about poor people committing theft or something - I mean, a woman in an executive position commits a multi-million dollar fraud, "she was born to a lower middle class family and her husband was cheating on her"

We shouldn't be concentrating on the protrayal of the defendant, but rather turn our attention to the decision of the jury in light of the evidence presented.

From what I'm aware, it was empirically proven she intentionally mutilated this man's genitals after drugging him. This clearly required premeditation, and while I'm not familiar with the law I was under the impression that manslaughter is a charge generally reserved for accidental death or death by negligence, rather than something that's been planned out like this.

While I certainly acknowledge that there is a major difference in the "justice" received by males and females, this is a deeply disturbed person, and whether male or female should be in an asylum for however long it takes.

When looking at the state of crime, punishment and mental illness support, I think we should be looking to more fair treatment of men as opposed to harsher treatment of women.
