I'm not sure how they would be able to get accurate information to know who was forced/trafficked into sex work. It's not like those forcing them are going to let them out to participate in the study.

The prohibition of prostitution in the US is what causes the majority of sex-work-related crime. when prostitutes get raped, what are they supposed to do if their profession is illegal?

Yeah, the biggest problem is that a lot of governments criminalize a lot of the activity around prostitution (pimping, buying, prostitution itself) which tends to cause prostitutes to segregate themselves from law enforcement. This isn't really good for anyone.

Illegal prostitution isn't about safety, it's about controlling male sexuality. Sex workers and their customers are MUCH safer in a legal and regulated environment. It is made illegal to limit male options for sexual gratification.

It's all about economics. When a resource is limited in availability, it comes at a higher price. A large pillar of our societal status quo is the phenomenon of men busting their asses in order to provide for a woman (his wife or LTR) who in turn provides (often inadequate) sexual release.

If a man can visit his local brothel and procure reasonably safe and anonymous company for a fair price, it makes it much more difficult for regular women to obtain a man's resources. Which means that all the economic sectors that profit from women lose access to male wealth.

Crusaders against prostitution do not care about the safety of women. They only care about maintaining the pussy cartel.

actually prostitution prohibition is more ridiculous than drug prohitbition. I have been saying this for so long. "Victims" of human trafficking are almost entirely made up of voluntary prostitutes. The term is deliberately made to be extremely convoluted. This is so the majority of people think that sex slavery is an extremely prevalent problem. Then they use to money to "rescue" these people - or just as likely likely, to line the pockets of the people running these organizations. It is actually very common for "victims" of human trafficking to run away from their "rescuers". The whole thing is beyond absurd. The most annoying thing about this topic is that most people aren't even willing to listen to the topic... they have already concluded in their minds that the world is full of slavers looking to exploit women. Nothing could be further from the truth.
