These are qualifications that could equally apply to both sexes. So why are they only being applied to one?

I don't understand how gender can even come into the discussion when these decisions are being made. Its 2011 and we still put gender into legislation? That's like putting race into legislation, and if someone did that they would get reamed by the media.

Imagine if they said up to 45% of white people would be released, and may consider giving non-whites the same deal in the future. There would be a shit storm.

Another example of feminists and their stooges using a good argument for conclusion A ( letting out non violent etc parents) to support conclusion B (letting out non violent etc female parents.) Still, at least it's more evidence that men are second class citizens, so it aint all bad.

Non-violent offenses should never be punished with prison. Basically, read up on the Non-Aggression Principle. Unless you initiated aggression, your punishment should be temporary and superficial if any punishment is necessary at all.
