To admit to these would be to see men as a group. For the so-called 'progressives', men arent a group. Black people are a group. Women are a group. But men can never be a group in the same way, because men are 'privelidged'.

Great, one. unfortunately, AA kinda failed. I get the rhetoric point. but if you really want to fix the apparent bias against blacks and men by colleges then you have to start earlier and leave any sort of discrimination out of it. starting with untying school budgets to property taxes obviously

While I'm sympathetic to the intent behind this post (and appreciate the sourcing of its claims), I find myself in basic disagreement with it. I don't agree with the simplification underlying the mainstream feminist viewpoint that is endorsed in some of the slides, because it obscures some very important realities behind the numerical discrepancies being critiqued.

I don’t agree with the notion that any disparity in outcome must be due solely to discrimination. The competition for boardroom jobs is extremely intense and requires a lot of sacrifice. Men are more likely to make those sacrifices because the payoff for them is potentially life changing: the increase in social status and wealth makes them much more desirable as mates to many women. I don’t think this is nearly as true for women thinking of getting into the boardroom race. The resulting gender ratio could largely be the result of more women rationally deciding their lives could be fulfilling without single-mindedly focusing on climbing the corporate ladder.

Similarly, while I suspect that a better gender balance in teaching would benefit children (particularly boys), I don’t agree that the scarcity of male teachers must be due solely to discrimination. Until teaching is somehow seen by many women as an occupation that makes a man more desirable than it seems to now, it’s not likely that hordes of men will suddenly start gravitating towards this particular career.

To be clear, I acknowledge that discrimination may pay a significant role in each situation. However, I disagree with the assumption that if this discrimination were eliminated, gender ratios in these careers would be equalized. We should absolutely be working to assure that everyone has equality of opportunity in whatever career path they choose to follow, but we should not expect (or base our rhetoric on) equality of outcome.

As a male teacher I've got to say that I don't think there are more female teachers because men are discriminated against. It's WAY easier to get a job as a man because everyone wants good male teachers.

There are also way more male principals than female, which is choosing from a way smaller pool. So another huge advantage to male teachers is getting promotions.

Slide 9 really hits the wrong tone in my opinion.
Three-quarters of teachers being women is not inherently negative. A better comparison would perhaps look at the male to female ratio for graduate teachers, and whether the men who graduate with a teaching degree are discriminated against when seeking employment.
The rest of the post is well presented though, keep up the good work.
