Not quite: the argument made by the prosecutors is that by prosecuting liars, you scare genuine rape victims from coming forward.

That's always been the excuse for not charging, here in Europe.

Kinda weird when you consider that by the same argument, you shouldn't arrest people who burn down their businesses for insurance fraud: because arresting arsonists for making false reports might scare people whose businesses burned down because of a genuine accident from informing the authorities. Strangely enough, police forces around Europe continue to arrest, charge and imprison arsonists, without expressing any such concern for people making genuine insurance claims.

I wonder why they don't apply the same logic to false fire claims as false rape claims. Such a mystery.

I don’t think there’s enough info here to make a proper judgment. The original source is a right wing outlet.

It sounds like she still maintains that she was raped and she believes it wasn’t investigated properly. It’s iffy because she sent joking messages to a friend about the encounter, though her explanation is that she was still processing the situation.

That blog cites the daily wire as a source. The daily fucking wire. I just took it upon myself to find a more reasonable source which happens to report on some pertinent details left out of the blog. I didn't read the daily wire article (except for skimming it for other sources) since I consider it to be pretty worthless as a source.
