I know a lot of successful businessmen, strong athletes, and amazing people with great leadership abilities. None of them referred to themself like this (e.g. alpha). They just do their things, people see it, and that's why they respect and follow them.

It means nothing, literally nothing, because the original wolf studies that oriented ‘alpha’ and ‘beta’ terminology were discredited.

So, since ‘alpha’ and ‘beta’ don’t even exist in wolf populations, they definitely don’t exist in human populations, either.

In human groups, leaders of prosocial, well-adjusted and happy communities (i.e, the ‘good’ communities) tend to be collaborative, humble and give credit to those in their ranks. They are not driven by power/grandeur, fear or hierarchy.

Please don’t worry about being ‘alpha’ OR ‘beta’. You’re neither.

It’s all fake. Alpha V Beta wolves has been disproven. The “Alpha” leaders have turned out to the the parents or elders of the litter. It’s pop culture pseudoscience. I say this as a man who is told by his partner “you’re an alpha”. No, this is bullshit.

There’s no real “alpha” or “beta” behaviors. That’s pretty much bullshit. We’re at a point where we’re two complex to be reduced to “alpha” and “beta” males.

It means being comfortable with your own decisions, not needing external validation, caring to the people around you. This is just my personal interpretation (basic stoicism). I think there are some good lessons to be learned from the red pill but nowadays is just a marketing stunt and kind of clickbaity, directed at young people who are still trying to form themselves

Alpha is just taking the lead in a situation, when appropriate.

Not everyone is going to think you’re alpha at all times, nor are you expected to be.

It’s also about consideration for others. Selfish behaviour is usually done for the good of your group - not against members of your group. Being a bully doesn’t get you anywhere.

I like to think of it as abundance mindset vs scarcity mindset rather than alpha and beta (I cringe reading those terms in an unprofessional context)

Abundance mindset : confident, selfless, follows their heart, does what they want (within reason lol) takes responsibility, doesn't try to please others at expense of themselves

Scarcity mindset: blames others for their problems, is weak, doesn't stand up for themselves, isn't confident, is selfish, whiny, tries way too hard to conform and please others normally at the expense of themselves.

I think "alpha" men say they're alpha men so they feel better about themselves because deep down they're insecure. Alpha men think they're all mighty and better than everyone else and are actually narcissistic. If a man calls another man a "beta" or calls themselves an "alpha" I lose a lot of respect for them. Those terms aren't real and are made to uplift yourself by bringing down others.

Based on ratinale male. Alpha means strong confidence Beta means weak confidence

You can see many situations where both are destructive or productive in their place. The first can be due to grandiose delusion, and the latter cane be due to concerns.

Alpha tend to be a leader type. Someone who wants to rally people together and inspire a team.

I’d argue that one of the best positive role models for an alpha is Ted Lasso from the Ted Lasso show on Apple TV. Not only is he ambitious and a leader, but he’s also incredibly kind and empathetic.

An alpha doesn’t have to be bad. But not everyone can be a Ted Lasso, lol.

And then using that same show, I’d say his co-coach is probably more beta.

They’re both working together, but there’s a good alpha/beta dynamic between them.
