We have all seen articles of men being arrested after getting physical with their female partners.
And to be clear, this post is in no way shape or form trying to justify men attacking women..
But have you noticed how one sided many of these articles / stories are?

For example lets take Fortnite steamer pleads guilty after hitting wife on twitch live stream
Now I remember actually watching the video of the stream in question and I also remember how quick people were to vilify his actions..

But what many people failed to notice was the fact that his wife initiated the aggression, first by shouting at him then by throwing things at him when he ignored her and it becomes clear to anyone watching that eventually enough is enough and he gets up and slaps her off screen to which she then cries and everything goes down hill from there.

Now, once again I'm not excusing his behavior but at the same time I do feel like that there are many cases similar to this where the woman starts off by verbally abusing the man, followed by escalating the aggression by throwing things.. and in some cases further escalating to punching, slapping, kicking, scratching etc when the man continues to ignore them.

But once again.. society has been conditioned to only see: Man hits woman? MAN BAD!!! and to out right ignore when women begin / escalate things.
It makes me wonder how many situations there are where a man has been arrested, charged, slapped with a protection order etc when it was the partner / wife / girlfriend who initiated the violence until it got to a point that the man couldn't hold it anymore and snapped?

We hear so much about how violent men can be that I feel it clearly overshadows how violent women can be and how they know they can manipulate the system to allow them to not only start but escalate violence, knowing full well that once the man retaliates she will be considered the victim.

Food for thought
What do you guys think?
