In my experience, I find it very difficult to fit in as a trans woman who is antifeminist. My gender is consistently invalidated by feminists, and many men seem to think I'm being somehow "brainwashed" or something. Is being a woman even compatible with being an MRA?

This is a great sub but the sheer amount of people means that there is a mixed bag in terms of ideologies: Mythopoetic, egalitarian, Red Pill, MGTOW, MRA and masculists to name a few.

You may get a mix of answers but by and large, most don't care sans some conservatives.

Yeah, feminists hate transwomen because of their aversion to biological males. Earlier they used to support them when the situation was about to eliminate male washrooms but then they dropped their support when women sports were made available for transwomen. They don't like equality when it doesn't benefit them.

Hey this is somewhat unrelated, but your perspective would be invaluable to me and perhaps some of mine might find value with you.

My formerly daughter (12) has come out as trans. And early I was very supportive. But as I watched, I wasn’t seeing what I was told the phenomenon was. This is not a boy trapped in a girls body. This is a rejection of societal norms - and if true I’m 100% for that.

I should also point this is not the circumstance for all (or perhaps even half) the trans community. So I’m in no way saying I understand what everything is. In fact that’s why I thought I’d reach out.

I honestly just want to know what’s happening with my son. Which sounds so empty following all those years when he was my daughter. I would always support him being gay or whatever. But I’m afraid he is NOT being him. And everyone tells me to let him be him. Well that is what I want. I want him to be exactly who he is. But my experience with him tells me this isn’t it.

But I don’t know. So I do what I’m told is best. And it does not seem to work.

I fought long and hard against modern feminism (which really seems to hate women) in family courts. I could offer some insight. My hope was to hear from you.

Feminism has always had a strong relationship with things like racism and transphobia because they both signal that someone who wasn't born a woman can be deacriminated against or be a victim of some kind.

Being female has never been, will never be and simply cannot be antithetical to the concept of promoting men's rights. Just because you're a woman doesn't mean you can't have a mind of your own.

Having been amab doesn't mean you're not a woman, it just means that people didn't see you as one until you realised your true gender identity. This makes it possible for you to suffer from problems men usually face, but transphobes in general see you as a man anyway. Especially TERFs are a wide-spread curse.

Some of the most influential MRAs are women (like the Honey Badgers). However, the MRM is plagued with trad-cons, meaning their buybull won't allow them to see you as anything more than a godless deviant. What a lot of trad-cons are going to get stuck on is that they can't differentiate being trans with being an SJW, aka intersectional (and thus feminist). So, if you are against intersectional identity politics, perhaps lead with that.

This community is very accepting of women and even feminists (depending on how civil they are). In my experience, feminist groups, especially the insanely toxic ones will immediately go for the cheapest possible insult whenever you bring up men's rights. If your a cis man they'll say you're an incel who hates women, if you're a cis woman they'll say you're just using men's rights to have sex with guys, and if you're a trans woman apparently they'll suddenly decide they don't support your trans rights. I try to take it as them not having any better arguments.

Firstly, we are very sorry for your loss. We are touched that your personal experience has brought you to be concerned about men and the various issues that affect them. Yes, you are very much welcome to particupate and call yourself an MRA, you do not need anyone's permission as long as you genuinely have the best interest of men, their lives and their children at heart. Most of the well-known MRA's were and still remain women. We very much appreciate your support and your involvement. Your identity as an individual should not stop you from actively participating in the discussions of men's issues and you will be able to sympathise with the plight of men and the women who love them, even more so because of your prior life. I think it is compatible. There are many women here who have watched their father or uncle or brother go through maltreatment at the hands of divorce courts.

You can be a feminist as a man, and a MRA as well (though many will disagree, because we see a lot of radicals). MRA is simply the male side of gender equality, something that must be tended to if we are to be equal. It does not need to be men who do it, though for obvious reasons most of us are men (like most feminists are women, though there are male feminists).

A significant number of MRA's are women. Act with integrity and support men's rights, are pretty much the only requirements.

About being "brainwashed" - this is a bit nuanced, but it is often used to dismiss arguments along with calling it a conspiracy theory and judging things on rhetoric and sentiment, disregarding the overwhelmingly negative effects of the same movement.

In terms of respect, a big distinction needs to be made between its common use and actual meaning. True respect has to be earned. The common use is actually not respect, but being polite and having good manners. It is also a fairly long subject to go into.

Uh, no. People have the freedom to agree or not agree with you on what your "basic identity" is. Contemplation and therapy does not change who you fundamentally are. Your perspective of who you are does not actually override who you are. You are still male. That may be upsetting to you... but it's a true statement. In fact, the entire justification for transitioning is that you aren't female. And, considering that gender as a concept was invented by feminists to push the "patriarchy" idea, if you're male you're also a man. Again, I fully understand that hearing that may upset you. I feel for you in that position, but I for one am not going to bend basic reality and the definitions of words to accommodate your perspective on who you are. It is on YOU to learn how to cope with the fact that other people can, and will, disagree with you. This is what it means to live in a free society.

3) If you advocate for men's rights to be equal, you're a MRA. If you don't, you aren't. What people have to say about your situation is not connected.

first, antifeminist: good on you, you seem to have understood they are going overboard.

gender invaliditation is going to happen from both sexes.

being a woman is definately compatible with MRA movements. find out where you stand on certain topics and work from there.

that said, I think the divide between both extremes is so far any fact based discussion is impossible. my advice is stop giving a fuck about what other people think.

I will be frank with you. Being a Trans woman isn’t compatible with being an MRA because you are a woman.

We aren’t against women, but you’ll find that MRAs only deal with men’s issues and feminism only deals with women’s issues.

Since you are a woman, you’ll find it very hard to have any of your issues to be fought for by MRAs.

However, if the question is, are MRAs accepting of your gender identity? Then yes, we are. If you say you wish to identify as a woman, i think any decent person will accept your wishes to be idenfied how you want to be identified.

Really glad you are here. Of course women can advocate for men and there are numerous ones around here. So are trans sisters and brothers, non binaries, non-conformers/femboys... you name it.

This sub has loose moderation as is considered necessary by some to foster constuctive debates without bias against outsiders. Inevitably, there are numerous ones abusing it to attack people in whatever way the consider us vulnerable - some with the intention to give the sub a bad name.

Still, I'm stoked for every person who cares. You might like r/Leftwingmaleadvocates as well, which has tighter moderation and more in-depth posts and discussion.

Let's face it, they are jealous. As one TERF told me trans women get the "advantages of being a woman, without the biological disadvantages"

I think that there has always been a % of people born biologically one sex who see themselves as the other sex. Nothing wrong with that, it's nature or nurture or whatever.

Feminism is essentially a hate movement and one built on jealousy. The most important thing is how you feel about yourself. I you are happy with your own life and happy living as a trans-woman, then that is great. There will always be haters who will hate. A woman's world is ruled by fear, jealousy and self loathing. The hate you experience is derived from one or more of those things. Feminists fear you for some reason, they are jealous of you, or they are just so full of self loathing that they actually see you as being a better woman than they will ever be.

Don't let the haters win.
