"Empowerment" has been so twisted, diluted, and perverted that now it's an absolutely revolting corporate buzzword that indicates hedonism and appeals heavily to the male gaze. It's almost always used to either sell something (lingerie, jewelry, makeup, clothing, etc) or recruit more women into satisfying male pleasure.
