The woman, now 23, has been found guilty of having sex with a 14yo boy and is due to be sentenced next month. This, however, is not considered rape, thanks to section 16 of the sexual offences act 2003. Instead this is sexual activity with a child, which carries a less severe penalty. If a man had done this to a girl, it would almost certainly have been charged as rape.
